You ask, what the hell does Fox News and Barnie have in common?
Well, lets look at each.

Fox News looks like, sounds like, and presents itself as a "Fair and Balanced" news media outlet trying to get the a fair version of the news out there so the public might make an imformed choice. "We report, you decide."

Barny looks like a dinosaur, presents himself as such, and loves everybody.
The difference is, everybody knows Barney is not a real dinosaur, he's just a person in a purple suit with an annoying voice. If Barney attempted to pursuade us that he was a real dinosaur, having survived the die out 65 million years ago, we'd think he was nuts. But, Barney knows he's fake, and only wants kids to memorize his sickenly annoying songs and buy his DVDs.
But, LOTS of people think Fox is real news. Some of the people who work at Fox even believe they're reporting real news. And while Fox claims to be a true news outlet for the masses, in reality Fox is an entertainment, propaganda outlet speaking for the Establishment Elite who owns them, and who want to own you. They are an instument of disimformation, and rely on your blind acceptance of what they broadcast.
Sadly, Fox is succeeding in its endeavors where Barney is doomed to fail. Nobody besides a three year old will ever believe Barney is real, but millions of people every night watch Fox News and buy into what they preach lock, stock and barrel.
So, what can we do? Edcuate, educate, educate! Teach people the distiction between the truth, and what Fox reports as scripture.
Another thread here reported that Sean Hannity refered to himself as "alternative media". That is laughable, and a bald-faced lie. We can get the real news out to poeple yerning for truth, and work to get the record straight. The failure of the Bailout package is proof that our voices are heard by our "representatives" in Congress. But there is work still to be done.
