WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate agreed to vote on a $700 billion financial rescue package on Wednesday night that will include an increase in the amount of bank deposits insured by the FDIC to $250,000 from $100,000, a Senate aide said on Tuesday.

The Republican Leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell, agreed.

"This is one of the finer moments in the Senate," McConnell said, calling the legislation "a way forward to get a result we need to achieve for the American people."

And also, call Mitch McConnell's office, KY, and tell him that if he allows this to go forward, you will help his political opponent win this election and will vote for him if you are in Kentucky. McConnell is vulnerable to this, he is running neck and neck right now. This will make a statement that if you support this bailout, you will lose your election.

Ditch Mitch but is his opponent any better =/

Tell him that now and make him sweat. Follow your conscious as you need.

Just supporting general things like any political opponent or the ditch mitch campaign will help.

Mitch doesn't seem to be acting very smart. He will get widespread opposition inside and outside of the state, and lose the election. By being the republican senate leader, he will become an example of what not to support against the wishes of voters.

Libertarian Party of KY removed Sonny Landham from the party ticket (he basically called for genocide against all arabs in the middle east)

I would love to get Mitch out of the senate.

In the 6th district, incumbent democrat Ben Chandler should win, but we do have a good republican candidate, Jon Larson, who is against the war on drugs and IRS. He even has a link to the Campaign for Liberty on his website :D, although he also has a link for McCain..

McConnell has betrayed us SO many times it's sickening. He's vulnerable, and we intend to remind him of that fact.

Has it occurred to anybody that perhaps Mitch is already expecting to lose, and was promised a cabinet position in exchange for his vote?

Oh, I'm sure he's been promised the moon for going along with this Bank Robber scheme.
