Republican Establishment Sues Elected Ron Paul Supporters Taking Back the Party

Alameda County, California - The Republican establishment is suing seven Ron Paul supporters, including the author of this article, who were newly elected to the Alameda County Republican Central Committee, using the Committee Chairman, Paul Cummings, as their surrogate. If the establishment is successful in this lawsuit, you can expect this tactic, or similar ones, to be repeatedly utilized to crush Ron Paul supporters. We could have agreed not to contest the lawsuit and quietly faded away; instead we remained committed to the Revolution and elected to fight. However, we can not have a successful Revolution if patriots such as ourselves are forced to stand alone on the battlefield. We need your support and, most importantly, financial assistance to win this lawsuit, and help take back the Republican Party from within. (See below how to help out.)

Prior to the June 3rd election, many of us were questioning what role we would play in continuing the Revolution and advancing the cause of liberty in our local area. For many of us, we knew all along that the Revolution was about the “message” and not the “man,” so a number of us decided to take Ron Paul’s advice and took steps to get involved with the local political process by running for the Alameda County Republican Party Central Committee. (Alameda County is across San Francisco Bay from San Francisco) We felt that we could put what we had learned during the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign to good use in promoting our own campaigns for Central Committee. Along with other like minded supporters, we formed a group which we named the Constitutional Republicans in honor of Ron Paul. We used our organizational skills to get a professional looking website up and running, personalized fliers printed and a Meetup Group started. We did canvassing drives, literature drops, sign bombs, flier bombs, email blasts and a whole host of other things to get our slate of Constitutional Republicans recognized and elected.

After the June 3rd election, it was obvious that our hard work had paid off. We ran a total of 18 candidates, and 12 were successful in winning seats on the 30 member Central Committee. Our entire group received 67,829 individual votes from the Republican voters of Alameda County. We were all very grateful to the voters, for supporting us and giving us the chance to do our part in returning the Republican Party to its roots.

After the results of the election had been certified by the Board of Supervisors, the Chairman decided to file a lawsuit contesting the election of seven of the newly elected members. We believe that this was a desperate attempt to deplete our numbers and scare our people from serving on the Central Committee. Needless to say, the Chairman’s plan did not work, as this lawsuit has effectively turned our group from a herd of alley cats into a pride of lions! We are now more organized, dedicated and committed than ever before.

This is not to say that our battle is over… It’s far from it! We still need all the help that we can get. Up to this point we have been coordinating our legal defense among ourselves and doing the best we can. We have a strong case but we need to retain legal counsel to assist us and argue our case in court. It is also very important to stop the Republican establishment from using this tactic against other Ron Paul supporters, or as I like to say, “Constitutional Republicans.” If we fail, you can all be assured that this tactic will be used every time we gain ground in restoring our Constitutional Republic!

I will post the links below to our website, our Legal Defense Fund Chip-In account, our YouTube channel with videos, newspaper articles and the Chairman’s email.

Please make a donation to our Legal Defense Fund Chip-In account! No donation is too small, every dollar counts and is much appreciated. Our trial is set for November 12th, so time is short. This Revolution will continue…

Dequent,
Read this article:

They are saying we were not registered as Republicans 3-months before we ran for Cental Committee, if we were "Decline to State" or 1-year if we were registered with another qualified political party! (Cal. Election Code Sec. 8001)

What the Chairman wants to do is remove the Ron Paul supporters, so he may appoint his neo-con friends. The appointees need not be registered for any period of time, they just need to be registered with the Republican Party in Alameda County.

The Chairman is a former registered Democrat, that describes himself as a, "liberal Republican." And get this... He works for Subsidised Housing... Isn't that fitting?

Very exciting, indeed. Unfortunately, I have no more patience to take over the GOP, as my loyalties now lie with the Constitution Party, a truly conservative and Constitutional party.

**Good News**

We were able to get the trial pushed backed to Nov. 12th. This gives us more time to obtain the services of an attorney. Our post on the Campaign for Liberty website helped us out a lot! We raised over $1,000 in a 24-hour period. How's that for a Money Bomb?

We are contacting C4L again with some new updates. Hopefully we can get another post up there soon.

The Constitutional Republicans have nothing but respect for the Campaign for Liberty! I would like to see them coordinate a legal defense team, so others won't have to fight it out on the front-line alone. This won't be the last lawsuit against Ron Paul supporters.

I don't know if you have heard of James Ostrowski or not.He is a lawyer from the Carolinas I think and he is fantastic. Writes for Lew Rockwells blog... Did a heap of work on analysis surrounding the Lincoln myth. If you google him you will find an email address and you could forward him your letter. He may be helpful or know people who are!
Good luck.

Donate to the Constitutional Republican's Legal Defense Fund!

In the June 3rd primary, 19 Constitutional Republicans (Ron Paul supporters) ran as a slate for the Alameda County (CA) Republican Central Committee and won 12 seats including over 65,000 individual votes. In a nutshell, the Republican establishment flipped and Chairman Paul Cummings is being the front man by filing a lawsuit against us. So far we've been handling our case in pro per while Cummings has a high priced attorney from San Francisco. Cummings admits he isn't funding the lawsuit and everyone at the California state GOP office seems to know about whats going on. Who is REALLY behind the lawsuit??? We could use any help by getting publicity/media attention or giving donations to our attorney fund.

These are the battles that are going to have to be fought for the Ron Paul movement to take hold. The stakes are quite large.

If these small government, Constitutional republicans win this suit, they will maintain a huge influence in the East San Francisco Bay GOP.... having 12 members out of 30 sitting on the Alameda County Republican committee.

However, if they lose, the county committee continues it's course, a precedent will likely be set for preventing Ron Paul supporters from winning these types of races, and these poor folks will left with a lofty financial burden simply because they attempted to make a change in a region of the country that needs it as much as any.

You can measure this groups' commitment to the Ron Paul movement by noting how well they mobilized to get 12 folks elected, by visiting their well-designed web-site, and by viewing the Ron Paul newspaper ads in my signature. Many of the defendants in this suit were instrumental in getting the newspaper ads placed. These are very motivated and determined people, but they desperately need your help to continue to make a real change in the East Bay!

Please donate if you can, if even a small amount. We only need 330 folks to commit $10 in the next week for them reach their goal. If we notify other RP-friendly boards and forums, meetup members, and all other Ron Paul supporters about the situation, this should be a breeze.

I just spoke with the court. We have a hearing reservation scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 14th at 11:00 a.m. This is not our official trial... this is a hearing regarding our Application for a Temporary Injunction Order against the Chairman. An "Injunction" is basically a restraining order. We don't want the Chairman to attempt to remove any of the Constitutional Republicans will this case is pending, and we don't want the Central Committee to continue to transact party business without a valid quorum. We are hoping that the Judge will rule in favor of our request. I'll let everyone know, as soon as I do, on Tuesday!

I've been in contact with our friends at the Campaign for Liberty. We may have our story posted on their website once again, very soon! Those guys and gals at the C4L are great, we should all be happy with what they've been doing!

We have been raising quite a bit of money, as of late! This is great! Keep it coming! And even if you are unable to donate, just send the Chairman an email and let him know that you don't like what he's been doing! You can post our story (with the links) on your Meetup Group Message board! Or you can visit our YouTube channel, watch the "Lawsuit Against Ron Paul Supporters" videos, rate them and post a comment. The Neo-Con Chairman Paul D. Cummings Jr. has filed an appeal with the court! Looks like this one isn't over yet! I'll keep everyone posted! I guess believing in the "message" really scares these people because they know that they can't stop this Revolution!

Congratulations to our friends down in L.A. County!
