I tried to e-mail my Representative to thank him for voting against the bailout and got this.
Write Your Representative
The House of Representatives is currently experiencing an extraordinarily high amount of email traffic. The Write Your Representative function is therefore intermittantly available. While we realize communicating to your Members of Congress is critical, we suggest attempting to do so at a later time, when demand is not so high. System engineers are working to resolve this issue and we appreciate your patience.
I like to think that the high traffic is from grateful citizens thanking them for not giving our hard-earned tax dollars to bankers who would just pocket it. But considering the amount of bad media being run nonstop about the failure of the bailout and the economy, I'd guess that it's probably mostly negative e-mail.
What do you think? Are the people at large so outraged at Congress that they're flooding them with negative e-mails, or do you think it's from citizens who agree with Congress?
