I am sure I'm not the only person in your district to have contacted you about the bailout plan that was voted on today. I was pleased to hear that it had been defeated, but not so pleased that you voted for it. These bailouts are unconstitutional and place an undo burden on the taxpayers of this country.

You sir, have betrayed your oath to the Constitution of these United States, and betrayed your constituents in the 16th district of Ohio. If you were not retiring I would demand that you resign your post immediately, but as it is I doubt you care much what any of us have to say. Your actions today disgust me.

As I'm sure the bailouts will be brought up to vote again sooner than anyone would like, I will once again urge you to do your duty to your district, your state, your country, and the Constitution; and vote against Socialism.

I have attempted to contact you through letters and e-mails, and it is clear that you have no interest in what I have to say. If you vote for the bailouts again, I will not rest until I have secured a face to face meeting with you. What this will accomplish, I don't know. It will, however, make me feel better educating you in person.

In closing, I will remind you that you are to be the voice of the people, not the tool of the President and Federal Reserve.

Sincerely,

"Kevin Kennedy" (Not my real name...)

LOL at least you're honest about that. But really, it was a good message

Well I didn't want it to seem like I intended to assault him or something lol. People go to jail for that type of crap.

Wow. That guy's last name is "Regula?"

As in "regulate"

or "Regulation"?

Can he really be trusted to not interfere in a free-market (even though we haven't had one for a while)? :o

Well Ralph finally decided to reply to me this time. The problem is his message had absolutely no words...

"Dear Mr. Kevin Kennedy

Sincerely, Ralph Regula"

But it's the thought that counts right?

I thought about writing him a similar type of letter as well. At least he's not running for re-election. I see you're a fellow Cantonian, first one I've met on here. What part of Canton do you live in? I'm running for city council next year.

Regula is Latin for "rule" I believe.

I'm in the Northwest end, a few blocks away from Glenwood Middle School (the old GlenOak High School) if you know where that is.

Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas)

Now we hear about taxpayer protections, about golden parachutes, and about other nuances that hardly cover up the fact that we would be creating more money out of thin air and further devaluing the dollar! The problem is not HOW the government is spending this money; it’s the fact that the government IS spending this money. WE DON’T HAVE IT. We are already nearly $10 trillion in debt, not including unfunded liabilities. We already spend about $1 trillion a year we don’t have on our overseas empire. Now nearly $1 trillion more is somehow supposed to magically appear and solve all our problems! No – creating more money might delay the inevitable for some well-connected banks on Wall Street, BUT IN A FEW WEEKS WE WILL FIND OURSELVES RIGHT BACK IN THIS SAME POSITION, BUT MUCH POORER.

We’ve already spent at least $700 billion on other bailouts THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. And while all this negotiation was taking place, the auto industry was quietly bailed out, with no controversy, no discussion, to the tune of $25 billion.

Taxpayers are right to be concerned about our financial future. We find ourselves now in a position of no good options, and no silver bullets. BUT THE WORST THING WE CAN DO IS TO COMPOUND OUR PROBLEMS BY INTENSIFYING THE MISTAKES OF THE PAST. We do have tough economic times ahead, no doubt, no matter what we do, even if we do nothing. The question, is will we have the courage to take our medicine now and get it over with, or will we prolong the misery for many years to come like the Great Depression?

YOU HAVE SCREWED US AGAIN, YOU’RE FIRED!
