Not that I favor such artificial manipulation....but isnt it strange how every other market free fall seems to get blunted and turned around by sudden late afternoon purchases via the Plunge Protection Team (Google it).....

yet....after these bastards didnt get their way today.....they just allowed the Dow to free fall almost 800 points today...

Where were the pluge protectors today????? Hmmmmmmmmm

God damn pieces of shit these Wall Street banksters .....

Interesting point, I see where you are going. Problem->reaction->solution.

But when have we ever been able to point our finger and say "here they are, this is what they are doing". All we ever know is sometimes the market doesn't respond the way it's "supposed" to.

This is curious indeed. I don't trust any of these fools ... i am assuming the evil ones have something up their sleeve. Something truly horrible.

On the other hand ... perhaps they realize their screwed. Time will tell.

I thought they would jump in as well. That is what it is for, and has been done under lesser circumstances.
Perhaps they let it fail, to cause more panic, create more fear, and stoke the fire to get it passed next time around. "See! Look how bad it got!"

I think the market did so badly today because there WAS no manipulation. This was actual market activity. If trading had continued Im sure the slide would continue....until we reaced correction.

Ah, but there was manipulation a few days ago when short selling was prohibited by the SEC. Can you imagine how bad it would have been if short selling was permitted today?

Create fear so the congress is under intense pressure and usher in support of the American people.

Remember to follow up with your congress person and thank them if they voted against the bail out. Give them encouragement it was the right move. If they voted against it, do what I did today. Tell them they showed their true colors, alienated the American people, ignored the will of their district and place the suggestion they never attempt to run for any public office again as you will do your part to make sure they will not get elected.

Good catch. Of course they allowed it. Hell, they encouraged it, and have done everything they can to inspire fear and panic...

Not interesting at all, really. It would have been obvious something funky happened. And they'd have been out on their ass.

Actually I think they were, cause when everything was going DOWN, I put in a MARKET sell and got $5 over the current market value. That has never happened to me before.

Maybe foreign govts or groups are manipulating the market.

there was dollar intervention today.
And I'm not completely sure there wasn't PPT intervention.
It could have been much worse today. 8% is a lot but nothing compared to '29 or '87

the whole point of allowing the market to slide so badly is to scare the hell out of the 12 or so congressman, and hang "market crash" over their head. It's all well coordinated I fear. If you vote for bailout legislation you save the market make all of us happy, if you don't you're directly responsible for a market crash. I've seen "curbs" be set in motion to stop trading early if markets are going down sharply, WELLL guess what, that didn't happen for obvious reasons.

The next battle will be tougher, the socialists, the neocons, the elite want to own it all now. The next battle will be a lot tougher.

I am sure if they have deep enough pockets that they will wreak havoc on the market as a means to not just get this bill passed....But a WORSE BILL that is in the making now...

that would not surprise me in the least....keep in mind that they were smart enough back in 1913 to convince the populous that the Federal Reserve Act was something NEW when in fact it contained everything they wanted and was rejected before it!!! (people are gulible fools....just let them see their savings take a beating and they would likely do ANYTHING if somone told them it would "make it all better".....I can't help think of SNAKEOIL SALESMEN with their Elixirs and Tonics to "cure what ails ya"!!! (which in our case is some of their earlier "medicine" they have had people consuming).
