Here is a copy of one email I sent out and posting it here so you can read some of the comments made today in the one minute speeches!
Instead of running those down that voted no to the Bailout, and getting
all the comments from those for the Bailout, why can't the news media
get all those together that voted no to the Bailout and have a press
conference with them??? I do not understand why in the world
the news media and others put such focus on those that helped
create this mess instead of putting focus on those that correctly
predicted this years ago this economical mess???
Here is what the news should be reporting on the speeches of
those that were against the Bailout. This is just some of the one minute
speeches today of those voting NO to the Bailout!!
The list below is accurate to the best of my knowledge on what I
heard today on C-Span but there could be inaccuracies in
spelling, etc. and not getting all the exact words of the following
quotes!
1. Republican Hensarling, TX We are on a "slippery slope to
socialism."
2. Republican McCotter, Michigan Mentioned something about
us choosing less freedoms or bread. (I wish everyone would listen to
his entire comments! They were great.)
3. Republican Culberson, TX (name sp?) Ask a very sobering
question, "Do you bankrupt our children OR Bankrupt a few on
Wall street that made bad decisions?"
4. Democrat Doggett, TX mentioned about them "being
fueled by fear." (I think he was talking about as far as making
everyone vote yes for the Bailout out of fear!)
5. Republican Pence, Indiana "Stand up for the American
taxpayer, vote no."
6. Republican Garrett, New Jersey, "America should be
outraged about what Washington is getting ready to do."
7. Republican Miller, Florida, "We must not sacrifice long term
freedom for short term financial gain." (Wise words!!)
8. Republican Flake, AZ, voting yes could "prolong
the crisis with this legislation." so he was voting no!
9. Republican Gohmert, TX voting no to "give billions
for assets they mismanaged."
10. Democrat Kilpatrick, Michigan, vote no
"OVER 400 ECONOMISTS OPPOSED TO PROCESS"
11. Democrat Jackson Lee, "We've been diagnosed
but America needs a second opinion."
12. One of the Republicans pointed out if this passed it
could also Bailout FOREIGN banks!
13. Democrat Kaptur, Ohio, "Draft the right deal, not the
fast deal."
14. Republican Latourette, Ohio, "People that made the
mess should have to clean it up."
15. Republican Tiahrt, Kansas, "DON'T LET FEAR
DRIVE YOU TO A BAD DECISION,"
16. Republican Musgrave, Colorado, "I SIMPLY CAN
NOT STOMACH TRANSFERRING THAT KIND OF
MONEY FROM MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES TO A
BUNCH OF WALL STREET BANKERS WHOSE
GREED PUT US THERE...."
17. Dr. Ron Paul, TX I did not get any of his quotes
but I am sure you could find them. Some people think
he is crazy but he CORRECTLY predicted this
economical mess years ago so we should be looking to
him and others that correctly predicted this mess instead
of to those that helped create it! He is for less government,
less deficits, more freedoms, and that makes him crazy?
I think not. This country has no idea what they gave up
by not choosing him for our Republican presidential
candidate!
