Here is a good article addressing that question and soundly thrashing the Corporate Rahm Emanuel democrats.
With that said, let us look more closely at what the Republicans are doing. SOMEBODY IN CONGRESS HAS TO LET OFF SOME STEAM OVER WHAT IS HAPPENING. Looking at it from a RepubliCrat perspective that has been thoroughly substantiated by any study of the Rubin-Paulson tag teem, it makes sense for the steam letters to be Republicans rather than Democrats.
1) We know that the Republican leadership is on board with the bipartisan wall street
giveaway.
2) The dems, with their New Deal history and labor ties would be more dangerous if
spoke up, because they still relly on this past to make people think that they
resist the rich.
3) Hence if the Dems were the steam-letters it would be much more dengerous--like
smoking near the gas pump-- because the resistance would be much more likely
to spread,
4) with the Republicans being the designated stam -leters the old AND THOROUGHLY
JUSTIFIED IDEA that they are the party of the rich, could be used as an effective
firewall against what the Corporate Media will inevitably call with contempt
"pararie populism" as if we cant count.(by the way I live in NYC, just to fight
regionalism, which is the best weapon of Wall Street (see Federalist 10)
Nevertheless, this article is great in how it points out just how bankrupt the Corporate Democrats of today really are. With Nanci P. IS ANYTHING ON THE TABLE???? WELL MAYBE SAN FRANCISCO REAL ESTATE INTERESTS!
