I'm here by myself on one of the busiest intersections in Raleigh, NC. I'm holding a 4 foot by 8 foot sign that reads: "NO WELFARE FOR BILLIONAIRES - VOTE THE BUMS OUT"

I haven't been able to get pictures yet, but I will try.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive.

More later.

at the moment I have sat in a chair, propped up the sign, and am updating mail and forums via iPhone. These things rock!

And thanks for the caution, it's well-heeded.

out here protesting again! This time I'm on the corner of Creedmoore and Glenwood-- deep on BJ Lawson territory -- and for the first 2 hours I was joined by a Lawson staffer waving a sign for BJ. Even better response on this side of town.

Got hassled by Crabtree Mall police who claimed to own the right of way, but I told them I would only move if a Raleigh City officer told me to. Turns out, of course, the law is on my side and the right of way is TAXPAYER property. :D

Several stepped up police patrols later, the mall cops left, and I am still here!

I'll be here until around 2PM, and since they moved the vote to tomorrow, I'll pick another spot and do it again then.

Thanks! Yes, but only one person stopped today. It was a different kind of interection, and a lot more difficult or that sort of thing. But I'll tell a lot more about the positive responses...probably tomorrow morning. I just got a trouble call, and I need to go put food on my table. :D :D :D

You only need a permit for demonstrations of a certain size. I dunno what that size might be... 50? 100?

for 1 to 10 people though you surely don't need a permit.

It's a drive for certain. Isn't District 12 near you? Their representative needs to go too.

I'll be answering all the open posts in this thread tomorrow morning, I have to get ready for this job I just got in.

The main purpose was to convince folks to vote out the traitors...that hasn't happened yet

Look, I have a great deal of respect for Gunny, we've gone over issues before, and I commend his efforts.

But I'm sorry, I'm just too cynical. Do you think these gerrymandered sluts still care about "votes"? If they did, they would have taken their marching orders from the millions of people that called, wrote, emailed and faxed in their opposition, in numbers that have set records.

But they went right ahead and did it anyway.

It's time to take this to another level. The political process is done, broken, corrupted beyond reform or repair.
