Lets use this thread to post news about the bailout.

According to CNN a breakthrough has been reached.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/28/bailout.ap/index.html

The way I see it any such deal is an abomination. Any bailout is unconstitutional and theft from taxpayers.

As far as I am concerned if this bailout deal goes through the US government is totally and completely illegitimate.

'Breakthrough' reported on bailout deal

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26884523

These two points troubled me.

"Allowing government to purchase troubled assets from pension plans, local governments, and small banks that serve low- and middle-income families."

"CNBC also reported that Democrats apparently agreed to drop a push for a bankruptcy-aid provision, intended to help homeowners facing foreclosure by allowing judges to modify terms of mortgages."

It was always going to pass, because the people are against it. I was so confident, that after selling all my stocks last week, I bought them all Thursday afternoon. They'll see a nice jump on Monday. Then I'm selling them again and buying silver.

FYI It says congressional leaders with bush have agreed on ... Not congress has approved.

They were saying that last week too. No vote has been taking yet. Keep calling.

Yes. It has not gone to a vote yet. I've always believed that these guys will give in and vote for one form or another of this bailout but the more pressure they get the more sleepless nights they may have going into November...especially if they're up for re-election.

There is nothing we can do about it short of revolution. The Federal Reserve will get its way, they always do.

Who cares if it's a done deal? Call, fax, e-mail. I'm heading to bed now, but I have a few calls to make and a couple of faxes to send tomorrow ... :)

I woke up at 1130pm and saw this announcement.

They know what they're doing is wrong, that's why the announcement came after America was asleep.

Well guess what you sonsabitches, you're just woken the sleeping giant. (I hope).

Here is their plan if correct.

"The House was scheduled to convene at 1 p.m. EDT today and members there were hoping they could vote on it by that evening and go home to campaign for re-election. The Senate isn’t scheduled to go back into session until Monday morning."

Nah, it'll take years before Americans know what hit them. And then they probably still will demand more government.

Those vote this through should not come back home....
