So they can't communicate with outside world, according to Fox.

Why don't they just point a machine gun at our elected representatives? This isn't legal.

So they representavies refuse this "request", citing their privileges. This is awful to even hear this.

Section 6. The Senators and Representatives shall receive a compensation for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of the treasury of the United States. They shall in all cases, except treason, felony and breach of the peace, be privileged from arrest during their attendance at the session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any speech or debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other place.

LOL! Fascism HAS ARRIVED! There is some rational argument for the FED to act secretly (even though they should be abolished immediately ). BUT CONGRESS? Their job is to communicate our wishes for legislation before Congress. i.e. Communicate with their constituents! This is crazy and illegal!

FYI This was reported on fox live about 10 minutes after RP was on. Looking for link, but I don't doubt it was tried if they are also meeting behind closed doors - which they also shouldn't be doing with something this vital to the countries future.

Might take some time to get in print if anyone reports it. There is a lot going on.

Who has the authority to take their blackberries from them and tell them they can't use them? The capitol police?

Staffers' Blackberries Confiscated as the Tough Negotiations Begin at Congress (http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/09/staffers-for-th.html):

Staffers for the principal negotiators of the Wall Street bailout bill were asked to turn over their BlackBerries Saturday afternoon so as to prevent leaks, as members of Congress and the Bush administration rolled up their sleeves to try to hammer out a compromise bill.

Of course it falls under the all encompassing National Security umbrella

So they weren't forced to give them up, they were only asked to give them up.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/09/principal-negot.html From this article "ABC News' Jake Tapper reported that the blackberries of staffers were seized and put in a trashcan to cut down on leaks."

He says seized...:(

Why would they bother seizing all cell phones?

It's not as if they are actually restricting the congressman from communicating with anyone by doing this.
