I need a few flash downloading sites that I can use. Need to save some vids from youtube, etc.

I like videodl.org but for some reason it's not working right now.

Can people please give me some other very basic ones that are similar to videodl.org where I just have to change the extension to .flv ???

Thanks in advance.

www.realplayer.com

Thats the one I use...just download the free player, and you should be able to download any flash video by right-clicking said video and clicking "save to real player"

NO. Isn't real player a product of real networks? That's the last thing I want to download. I don't want to download any more programs. I already have all the flv video players I need. I simply need some sites to download those youtube vids.

Doesn't anyone know????

thank you!

btw why would only sbc/att be affected in accordance to those websites? Is sbc trying to block axcess or something?

Yeah, realplayer will allow you to download the file as a .flv

I use it all the time. Real player downloads it, but you play it on any flv player. Realplayer is the tool I use to rip the video from whatever site its on, youtube, metacafe, etc.... Its a small program with an IE plugin that allows you to dowload the video in the background while its streaming....very cool gadget.

Thank you anyway nodope but real networks are scum and they used to spy on peoples habbits so i'll pass. I boycott most companies that do that like real networks, aol. etc

i just replied to your message but i'll put it here to:

if you look here: http://internetpulse.net/

you will see sbcs connection to internap / xo is not working---i know a ton of webhosts that run on those 2 networks so sbc losing its connection to them will cause any sites hosted on the networks to not load

its probably sbc maintenance as its 4:30 am --- hopefully it passes soon so i can access my work again :/

Wow...I didn't know they did that stuff....none of it showed up on my spyware check.

Well, try looking at CNET: http://www.download.com/2000-2001_4-0.html?tag=hdr%3bsnav

They always have all kinds of cool stuff. Some of it free, some not, but alot have free trials.

Good luck, and if I find anything I'll shoot it over to you via pm. Ciao.

Thanks nodope. I don't really use cnet anymore either because they have so much spyware in those programs and I think most people use some other geek site for free programs, though I don't remember the url right now.

If we were talking about a Pocket PC, then I could give you a couple of great sites for software....I'm a little behind the times with PCs since I bought my XBox 360 :D

How do you like that xbox 360 and can you play any dvd video game on it? how does that work exactly? I'm sure I am missing out on a lot.

I just love my old super mario 2 and 3 games. could play them forever. =)

XBox360 Rocks!!! Great graphics, great sound. It won't play any dvd game, only those made for Xbox360, and LOTS of Xbox games are reverse compatable. Plus, you can get online with it and play, and voice chat with people all over the world.

It also plays DVD movies and music CDs. Online, you can rent and download entire HD movies for cheap, and also donwload games. Plug in your digital camara, and you can view your pictures and movies thru it too....good stuff. Worth the $279 I paid for it.

We've come along way since the Atari 2600!

Video DownloadHelper plugin for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006

It has always worked perfect for me. It can now also be set up to do conversion to whatever format you want.

What are those systems that all the techies use and modify to play any dvd rom game on? You know the ones where people download some game from a p2p, burn it and then play it on some gaming console. What is the easiest console to do that with? Or are people actually just using their x-boxes as their CPUs now?

I liked the old sega and playstations. not into all the new consoles where you have to pay like 500+
