Capitol Hill Switchboard: (202) 224-3121

“Dear Senator/Representative:

You MUST reject the Paulson/Bernanke plan for bailing out and propping up reckless banks at taxpayer expense. This is madness to ask us, the taxpayers, to cover the liabilities of Wall Street. We are tired of being fleeced. If you vote to support this plan, I will do everything in my power to remove you from office before you can give away any more of our money to failed businessmen.

Thank you, [Your name]”

BUMP!

This is probably their major announcement.

Personally, I would only use threats as a LAST resort. Although, some might say that point has arrived, I would first investigate the "representative"'s record before adopting such a severe tone. My "representatives" have been responsive to the problems associated with bailing out the excesses of Wall Street with the taxpayer's money. Threatening them in advance of the vote probably won't work any better than threatening them after they vote. In other words, adapt your approach to the situation.

Just emailed my public serpents again. This is just the kind of thing I've been hoping C4L would do.

Great
This is what I used to say they will lose my support:

Please, for the sake of our country, vote against this bailout. Otherwise, I will campaign my hardest to ensure a victory for your opponent.

I like that Mr.

I will use that if you don't mind.

Yes adapt, but if they vote for this they're displaying their real colors, or real ignorance.
Many just put up resistances for show while they've been suckling at the teet the whole time. Kind of like the good-guy bad-guy routine.

Most have their hand in the kitty, no matter what face they put on it. Our vote is the only decent ammunition we have.

Either they're against this or we're against them. Period.
