I saw this post in another forum...It makes a lot of sense and is a great comeback for when people say "RP can't win"..

ANYONE OTHER THAN RON PAUL CAN'T WIN

There are those Republican neo-cons for which no amount of reason or logic can overcome their stubbornness (i.e. psychological insecurity)

Like a losing gambler playing double or nothing until he gets his money back, the chicken hawks will never admit that the war was a sick fraud based on a pack of lies. It is for this reason that these folks won't support an honest and principled Constitutional conservative like Ron Paul.

So, let me try a different angle...a "pragmatic" approach:

If the GOP nominates any OTHER than Ron Paul, Hillary will win in a landslide. It's that simple.

Although Hillary is also pro-war, the public perception out there is this is a GOP war. A pro-war candidates (Rudy-Fred-Mitt)will meet the same Waterloo as all those pro-war GOP Congressmen who were swept away in 2006. 70% of the nation is now against the war, so a pro-war GOP candidate is a SUICIDE RUN run for the GOP.

Conversely, the peace candidate Paul will trash Hillary on her warfare voting record.

It's Ron Paul....or Hillary......Your choice my neo-con chicken hawk friends.

I get the scenes that the Republican party doesn't want to win. They would let this country be plunged into a socialist system, rather than promote Ron Paul as a candidate that can actually beet Hillery. Ron Paul could be the republican parties secret weapon against Hillery, if the played their cards right.

I go one better than that Max.. I tell the neocons (as I believe it true) that if the GOP nominates anybody OTHER than Paul, then the GOP is dead... finished.

THe GOP is almost destroyed, without Ron Paul it is Kaput

Now the trick is to get them to understand that a Ron Paul win would be huge for conservatives and that elections are politics. They are going to have to give a little in order to get a lot.

They drop the war and they get damn near everything else they want with Ron Paul.

After all, Ron Paul will deliver on so many issues that are major concerns high up on the conservative agenda.

They also need to understand that with our troops here at home we wouldn’t be less safe, we’d be safer. Can you imagine the message it would send to the rest of the world (including our neighbors) if the U.S. withdrew its troops, cut foreign aid and took up a defensive posture?

If I were on the outside looking in I would think... Ug oww. These guys mean business.
We could balance our budget, back our currency and lower our taxes.

We’d be mean and lean.

When a typical GOPer finally understands that only Paul can win, then they just need to understand that it would actually be a good thing on so many levels.

They’ve still got to vote for him or they will still get Hillary.

And the fact is that (I believe) we need them too if we are going to beat Hillary.

Yeah Max, I've been posting this a lot over on Townhall. It drives the neocons nuts. :) Someone recommended this, here on the forums, some time back.

If Republicans want to win in November of 2008, they must nominate Ron Paul. If they nominate anyone else, they will assuredly lose. The Reagan coalition has turned into the Ron Paul Revolution.

Given that if Ron Paul goes up against any of the Democrats and the media gives him a fair look, the American people will see that he is a genuine candidate. Bear in mind the Democrats will throw all kinds of mud at him and he'll take it with class and dignity.

What I suspect will happen if RP gets the GOP Nomination, the Party leadership will go silent, giving the Democrats a clear slate to throw all kinds of s#!t at RP. The media will cover that all and RP will have to continue waging a grass-roots effort. On election day, most of the so-called GOP 'base' will stay home and let RP fend for himself.

Hillary will be the media's expected winner, but RP will have a surprise for her and everyone else who doubted him.

Exactly. In fact, I'll take it a step further. I don't care if "they follow us home". I risk my life every time I step out my front door. A few terrorist attacks aren't gonna increase the chance of me dying a horrible death by much. I'm willing to take that slightly increased risk in return for a true free market, a sane foreign policy, the end of the welfare state, sound money, and my overall liberty.

RP's anti-war stance is the least of my reasons for supporting him.
