I want to do a bunch of postcards that we can target at the early primary states (provided we can get addresses). This is kind of like what I want to do but my graphics skills blow

http://www.doomwadstation.com/rp_pc.JPG

What I'd REALLY like is for there to be an American flag (faint) in the background and cooler looking text. Any suggestions on the actual text are appreciated.
Everything needs to be at least 1/4 inch away from the borders and minimum of 300 dpi.
Anybody who can help with this?

What if the cards were customized to reflect the state?

That would be cool.

What do you think of the general idea?

i may throw something together this evening, if you don't have a design by then (at work)

I like the idea

This is just a Mock Up idea, kind of like those old travel postcards that had little points of interest from around the location.

I was thinking about it.
If enough people are interested in getting them, I could order and disseminate and we could ask for mailing lists from the campaign or just mail them to people in our own area simply by going to the local post office and sending them out.
How much does it cost to send out a postcard nowadays anyway?

Do you want to get the message across on the front or back? What is the message we are trying to get across? =)

I think maybe..

You want to know how to END the War, END the IRS, and END Open Borders?

Those were the first three I was thinking of.
I figured we could send them out in waves, so to speak. Start with one message, give it a week or two, then send the next wave.

Front, because the back would be for addresses.

I made this in photoshop. It is in 300dpi about 5x7 inches (I think it is a bit large for a postcard, I can shrink it to any size). Text changes can be made, since the source file in unflattened.

If you like it, I can post the original photoshop file here. Or make any necessary changes for you.

Someone from New Hampshire has said on here before that a lot of people in New Hampshire do not have internet access. If that is so, this isn't going to do us one bit of good. How can we verify this? Maybe contacting the New Hampshire Ron Paul coordinator? They actually have one there. Also, contacting the Meetup groups there?

Mailing is good, but if what I said above is true, then we will have to include the information ON the card, or the mailing. I have even wondered about printing up booklets of information for states like New Hampshire. We could put some of his Texas Straight Talk articles or even a few of his speeches, etc. We would just have to choose the ones we thought represented best the message we were trying to get across. We can get these booklets made at a fairly low cost at www.taradel.com Say, multiple page 5.5x8.5 mini-booklets.

Ms. Doodah's has also researched the newspapers in New Hampshire. Perhaps that is the way to go.

We need to have a few sub-forums on here:
1. For New Hampshire
2. For Iowa

Any others, right now? Maybe South Carolina?

The way it is now, it is too hard to keep everything organized. For example, where in hell is Ms.Doodah's research on all the New Hampshire newspapers?

How about it has some salient blurb on his issues like this from the website:

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

and then provide a "return postcard" for them to ask for more info if they want? The mailing would be 2 stamps instead of one, but you get a good rate of return idea and you can send them literature dvds whatever to whoever is interested at no cost to them.

Just print it in a double sized postcard, fold it in half and tape it, so all they have to do is tear it in half to mail it (it will be prestamped or metered), and they can get more info.

That is PERFECT. Can you shrink it to 4x6?
