Once again, never trust an MSM scumbag.
Turn off your TV's, go back to your internets.

The MSM is spinning this destruction of the dollar as:

1) Necessary
2) better than the alternative
3) impossible to blame anyone

The democrats now want to socialize everything, so the MSM is painting the Republicans as reasonable because they only want to socialize some businesses.

MADNESS!

It's time to fight, it's time to stop obeying the evil doers.

Glen Beck is an example of the term "gatekeeper".

He didn't say that. Other people on the show said that, GB actually said that the bailout would make it worse.

I don't think Glenn is evil or is trying to participate in some grand cover-up. The news he was given by some of his guests gave him a new respect for what Paulson is up to. Apparently, the money markets had frozen up and if we hit Monday with no solutions they were predicting that some of the big box retailers could collapse that week.

I'm with everyone on the need to not make things worse with more inflation, but that part of the bailout may be a necessary evil. If the economy is going down, we need to try and put it down gently or it is going to take a hell of a lot longer to recover from.

(Note that I'm not arguing in favor of trillions of dollars in bailouts... but perhaps a careful money market fix or something.)

This is the second thread about this topic, are you SURE?!?!

I wouldn't be surprised if he was called into a private meeting over the weekend for telling his viewers on CNN that the Federal Reserve is not an entity of the Federal Government, but a globalist banking cartel.

He said it several times. He said we are headed for a crash either way but he is now FOR the bailouts because they are "necessary". He's parroting the politicians. He knows where his bread is buttered.

Dude, then you're a total collectivist and in opposition to everything Ron Paul stands for. Where do you think they will get this $2 trillion? Who do you think caused this entire problem?

You put it down gently by stop inflating. Murdering the dollar is an awful thing.

The bad businesses need to die and leave the market. It is that simple, there should be NO bailout. This isn't the Soviet Union.........Oh wait we are almost as socialist.

I'm not proposing any wall street bailouts... I'm saying that there is an argument to be made for limited movements to put her down gently.

Look at it this way... Americans don't deserve this enormous crash we're about to have. We owe it to them to make sure America can recover. If our industry is wiped out, America is completely fucked.

And from the ashes a Phoenix will hopefully arise. The longer we put off the correction and lessons the worse it is going to happen and at that time there maybe no recovering. Now is the time to take the bitter pill.

I have to admit... the emotion in this situation makes it hard to think clearly sometimes. I'm just trying to do everything I can -- and help friends and family -- follow Schiff into our new economy with money from the old one.

I'll have to watch it again. I was almost positive that the guests were the ones in favor of the bailout.

I watched it.

Glen Beck is IN FAVOR OF THE BAILOUTS.

He said we crash either way, but without the bailouts it is a hard crash and with the bailouts it is still hard but not AS hard of a crash.

Maybe he thinks the bailouts are a necessary evil but I could tell he's not happy about them....he's still pissed at the politicians for causing this mess...and he was holding a pitchfork on today's show.

Glenn said it would make for a softer landing. He also said we're crashing either way though, that's not good for market confidence. :)

from my reading on the socialist and marxist websites - even the gov't bailout isn't close to socialism and they complain that it reeks of capitalism yet because it isn't the people taking over the corps.

I don't know much about socialism, and i was curious as to what they were saying about the collapse so I went looking and this is what I found:

At least Peter Schiff explained why the bail out is going to make things worse. So his audience got both views on this. I don't know who the other two clowns were, but man I love Schiff. Because of him, I'm pretty sure my family is going to be able to ride this out.

I got as far as here:

"We argued that the inherent contradictions within capitalism – a system based on production for profit and not need – remained, particularly the economic cycle of ‘boom and bust’."

And then I stopped. If these idiots think the boom/bust cycle is due to "production for profit and not need" then they aren't worth my time.

I only watched part of it. Schiff was the best. Glenn Beck is just parrotting the Neocon talking points, but more subtly due to the tone of his show as of late. I think Rush & Hannity are pushing it worse.

These people are consummate brainwashers it and pervades all sectors of our society. One of my coworkers was saying he didn't care, it was a good thing as it would save peoples retirements. I explained to him how it might not. Even as I was leaving work one of the janitors was telling me that the bail out is good and even went further; he said our goverment could MAKE MONEY on this deal when the economy recovers. Where are people getting this stuff? Not from their own heads - people are born with more sense than that.

Oh, I know. Beck is a duplicitous talking head if there ever was one. Beck constanty qualifies his support for Ron Paul with some stupid exception. Just recently when Ron appeared with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, Ron pounded home the problem with deficit spending and the huge impact of foreign entanglements on the deficit. Beck constantly poo poos that argument which just shows any sane man that Beck's mind is parked in a geosynchronous orbit around earth. Whether Beck likes it or not, our foreign entanglements MUST stop in conjunction with severe reductions in domestic spending if we ever hope to pull the dollar out of a nosedive and link it to something of value.
