"The rise of Islam will bring upon the decline of the West. Study their theology and you will find it practically incoherent with Western tradition (let alone the Christian faith). I hate to break this to my pluralistic cohorts, but we can't co-exist with Muslim ideologues. We must either put up a very large fence or one of us needs to be destroyed." Kevin K

"What's Ron Paul's plan to fight Al Al Qaeda? Just wondering. Will he be willing to re-invade Iraq if Maliki or his predecessor allows terrorist training camps to be run there? Does he think it is as easy as pack up and run? I agree with some semblance of sanity and freedom for all, but historically republicans are not ones for freedom for all, especially not for gays and to a lesser extent lower income citizens. They aren't the same as the rest of us. What we need is another president like Franklin D. Roosevelt to revive an idea like the New Deal, and be able to defend our country. We dont need somebody who will ignore the evergrowing threat of terrorists both worldwide and at home but we also dont need somebody who has alterior motives for war and will go in fighting blindly like the Republican president we have now. Ron Paul reminds me of Obama, somebody just riding the wave of resentment towards the war, somebody who has no real plan for our security." Jason Snelling

Well my guess these guys are products of American Public Education who have little to no knowledge of history - other than what has been taught in the dumbed-down history books. Otherwise they would not think this way. No critical thinking skills what so ever.

How convenient for the rising political field to have such a group of young ripe voters to manipulate, eh? Wonder what would happen if young people started thinking for themselves instead of what they have been been brainwashed to believe for 12 years in the Public Endoctrination Schools?

They suffer from paranoia, fed by lies accepted by them as indisputed fact (i.e. All Muslims want to destroy all non-Muslims). All that can be done is putting forth the effort to educate them. It can be done.

I'm a product of the public school system, which was mostly worthless, but I relearned everything on the internet and there's no reason nobody else should be able to do the same.

Wow, and people say our public education system doesn't work. It looks like 'mission accomplished' to me!

You and me both. But, didn't you kinda feel the same way about Roosevelt and Republicans before you washed your own brain? That is the liberal propaganda that our father's fathers were fighting. The idea of collectivism, socialism, and historical ignorance. If the Ron Paul candidacy is step 1 of the 'Revolution" re-education of America is step 2. (Man, that word "Re-education" sounds so sinister....)

Eh, "Re-education" implies previous education. I don't consider the spoon feeding of statist propaganda education. Thus step 2 is not the re-education, it's the education of America.

The so-called 'Islamo-Fascists' find in the Koran the word 'oppressors' through which to justify their 'holy wars'.

Funny how there are no terrorist fears in China where 1/10 of 1 percent of the population is Islamic. Maybe China has already fought and won it's 'war on terror'?

Maybe China doesn't invade and occupy, assassinate and depose the leaders of, or arm and train the enemies of the countries that have the oil and other commodities they need or wish to monopolize at the expense of the people who actually own the commodities.

Or, maybe China can't be so easily sold as the 'oppressor' as the US (Exxon/CIA) can.

Maybe Ron Paul knows that becoming a nation that can easily be shown to be the worst 'oppressor' on earth by using our military might to aid and abet greedy corporations in their quest for monopoly places the crosshairs over US citizens, drains their treasury and lessens the perception of it's vast military strength by bogging it down in one third world morass after another.

I'm just sayin'.

Ahem....

One of Ron Paul's largest groups of supporters is among young people. This is one element of his campaign that gives him hope for our future. It also says something about the fact that younger people are often more open to what he has to say than many older people are.

I just laughed when I read an article this morning about John McCain's visit to a classroom (though I felt a little sorry for McCain). There were students suggesting that he was too old. They pointed out that he was older than Ronald Reagan was when he took office, and thus, would, if elected, be the oldest president.

I don't see Ron Paul getting this from young people.

And yes, it's likely that the writers of those letters were "products of American Public Education" (as are most people). I don't see any indication of their ages, though.

Jason SnellingThis is what I think people don't get - the reason we will (or at least we will if we are true to our credo) is that our ideas are better. The reason we beat communism is because communism doesn't work and freedom does. All we have to win is the war of ideas and the rest will follow. Freedom and liberty is superior to everything else so it will ultimately always win. We don't have to worry about beating them - they will beat themselves.

One could argue that's the primary reason Ron Paul is doing as well as he is doing.

The argument that always works best for me against dipshits like this, is the "chickenshit" method. I say "So, youre so afraid of Muslims that youre willing to change and reduce our freedoms here at home? Talk about letting the terrorists win, damn. Instead, why dont you focus on protecting our 2nd ammendment rights so we can actually protect ourselves from people who would attack us instead of concentrating on letting the government do it? Are the terr'ists all going to get in boats and said across the ocean and take us over? Do you really think thats possible? If so, Id say you need to get yourself a tinfoil hat and glue it to your head permanently.Wanting Big daddy government protecting us sounds like something I would hear from the most socialist liberal democrat, not a supposedly brave american. Geez, what a crybaby. Ill tell ya what, if it ever gets to the point where terrorists land on our shores in large numbers, you chickenhawks can go hide behind the government beg for protection and let the rest of us 100 million armed americans defend ourselves. Dont worry little buddy, we wont let them getcha."

This usually makes them feel stupid, and at least shuts them up if anything.

Well, the whole idea is to paint them as the big government liberals that they really are. Take their war hawk BS and turn it around on them to make them look stupid, and hopefully plant a seed in their heads.
