Their research, published in the journal Science, indicates that people who are sensitive to fear or threat are likely to support a right wing agenda.

Uhh, duh?

If you want to know the history of neoconservatives and Islamists, see the film "The Power of Nightmares" it's on Google Video or Information CLearing House. Their WHOLE PHILOSOPHY is based on fear, lies and distrust.

if that's the case, it does make one wonder why the left fears individuals rights to bear arms, why they're prepared to follow a democrat into potentially new wars, why they're ok with Fisa, millitary commision act, patriot act - so long as it's a democrat running the show. Why they fear the individuals rights to hold on to their earnings.

The study supports a false left / right paradigm. It's based on a false premise. IT FAILS.

If we were to take it's assumption to the proper lengths, right wing agenda (aka collectivism)... means the left wing agenda are piss scared (afraid too)

i.e Logical conclusion... all the pussies and assholes support collectivism.. all the hard mther fkers support individualism.

The right is scared of terrorists. You are seriously more likely to die driving TO the airport... than anything to do with terrorism. And the left wants to cry home to money, capitalism is the devil... "make it stop" "sheds tear" -- oh the environmentz, the tradegy of the commons "sheds tear"... the fact that they are commons, makes all the tragedy... all soft in the heart, not just the heart.

"It's just that we have these very different physiological orientations. We're not sure where they came from, they may be genetic, they may be something from childhood; we do know, though, that they run deep because it's a reflex, it's not something you can change tomorrow, the depth of that may be something of an asset in figuring out why people are so stubborn in their political beliefs..."

Interesting.
