Most of you know Brent Sanders (http://www.joinsanders.com/), who has been a solid member of this forum and a solid supporter of Ron Paul. You may know him better as torchbearer (http://ronpaulforums.com/member.php?u=600).

What you may not know is that he is running for Congress as a Ron Paul Republican from the state of Louisiana.

Today I PMed him to ask how things were going, and he confided to me that he's been having some difficulties raising the necessary funds to make his run for the House a reality. I hope he doesn't mind, but I'd like to appeal to the members of this forum on his behalf.

I understand that we're all gathered here to support Ron Paul's candidacy for the presidency, but we also need to understand that whether or not Ron Paul wins this election, we need as many solid people in Washington as we can get.

If you're maxed out on donations to Ron Paul, if you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket, or if you just want to help a young Ron Paul Republican take the fight to Capitol Hill, please consider donating to Brent's campaign effort.

If you can't help him out financially, please consider making a post about him on your blogs or any forum you might visit.

You can visit his website here:

I second this. How about we submit his information to Digg and digg it up?

I'd like to express my support for Brent, but also suggest to him that he shouldn't copy and paste his issue statement directly from RP's website. :)

Thanks for the plug Spirit!
A note on the website, the donations page isn't 100%. it should work, but isn't nice and pretty... if you have trouble using the donation link, pm me for alternative ways to donate.
Also- the webmaster asked me what my stances were.... I told him, the same as Ron Paul's... 100%. So, instead of reinventing the wheel, he decided just to republish the positions... the message....

I have set a $10,000 campaign benchmark for January 08. That is the minimum i will need to get a serious campaign started. We will need your help to make this happen...

I will be sure to have Ron Paul mentioned in all my interviews. In my 2006 campaign. I had over 30 local tv interviews/ news articles.

Best yet- I'll be running against a neo-con Republican who had been a life-long democrat. :) talk about obvious.

Also- don't forget the other candidates that are carrying the freedom message... they can be found here: http://ronpaulsacrossamerica.com/

Is the local meetup groups aware? I'm just curious if they've been reached out to yet.

the meet-ups in my district are non-existent....
The couple of groups that are really active I was going to approach after the state elections this october. they are also helping out T. Lee Horne, III in his bid for governor... as am I. I don't want to take funds away from Lee Horne's campaign... they need it the most right now.
He's the one that had that rapper Lil' Nuke make that song "Vote Libertarian"

That's cool and all, but you really need to personalize it. Someone reading your website could think that you're already in Congress, authored HR1095, delivered 4000 babies, and practiced medicine for over 40 yrs.

Also- for those that donate.... if for some reason I don't reach my goals and cannot finance a decent run for office, I will donate what I have raised to the Ron Paul campaign in January '08.

Huh, I knew of Sanders and had seen this torchbearer, but never made the connection.

Anyways, I cant find a date/results for the Louisiana republican primary for Sanders.
Any help?
