'Lysander Spooner once said that he believed "that by false interpretations, and naked usurpations, the government has been made in practice a very widely, and almost wholly, different thing from what the Constitution itself purports to authorize." At the same time, he could not exonerate the Constitution, for it "has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist." ' -- Thomas E. Woods, Jr.

Carry on.

We sure wouldn't want to let something as insignificant and silly as REALITY to disrupt and intervene in the celebration of the departed. ;)

We the People, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of LIBERTY for ourselves and OUR POSTERITY do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

'Twas a noble deed indeed.

Here's some facts:

Notice of Implementation of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day
on September 17 of Each Year.

Did you know it's Citizens Day too? Get out the Pitchforks and head to Washington DC!

http://cpol.army.mil/library/nonarmy/constitutionday/ (http://cpol.army.mil/library/nonarmy/constitutionday/)

September 17 has been designated as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day to commemorate the signing of the Constitution in Philadelphia on September 17, 1787. Specifically, Congressional Appropriations Bill H.R. 4818, P.L. 108-447, requires Federal agencies to provide new employees with educational and training materials on the U.S. Constitution as part of the new employee orientation materials; and provide all Federal agency employees educational and training materials on the Constitution on September 17th.

Do ALL Federal employees receive their mandatory CONSTITUTIONAL material and training?

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: This notice informs educational institutions
receiving Federal funds from the U.S. Department of Education
(Department) of a new statutory requirement for implementation of an
educational program pertaining to the United States Constitution, on a
date designated by statute as Constitution Day and Citizenship Day
(``Constitution Day''). This Congressional initiative is authorized by
Section 111 of Division J of Pub. L. 108-447, the ``Consolidated
Appropriations Act, 2005,'' Dec. 8, 2004; 118 Stat. 2809, 3344-45
(Section 111). The Assistant Deputy Secretary for Innovation and
Improvement (Assistant Deputy Secretary) takes this action in order to
implement this provision as it applies to educational institutions
receiving Federal funding from the Department.

Section 111 requires that Constitution Day be held on September 17
of each year, commemorating the September 17, 1787 signing of the
Constitution. However, when September 17 falls on a Saturday, Sunday,
or holiday, Constitution Day shall be held during the preceding or
following week.
