What were they thinking when they sent these out? They must have known what was coming ... maybe it's some marketing guy's idea of a joke.

What's funny is that the taxpayers to whom AIG offers "protection" are now gonna be providing AIG with "protection" ...

What were they thinking when they sent these out? They must have known what was coming ... maybe it's some marketing guy's idea of a joke.

The process of designing the mailer, printing it up, and mailing it out takes a few weeks at least. AIG has been shopping around for a buyer for a while now. It's been in the news. At the time that they made the letter, they were probably hoiping they'd find somebody.

Then again, I guess they were right. They did find a buyer. Ben Bernanke bought AIG, with our money.

Obama said, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig" ... he was referring to McCain's plans, but McCain camp claimed he was referring to Palin because of her lipstick pitbull comment in her convention speech.

Important stuff ... definitely worth 3 days of media coverage hehe
