North Carolina: Third parties offer alternatives
Posted by TPW News Items --- September 15th, 2008
The Burlington (N.C.) Times News reports to its readers that they will have alternatives to the Republicans and Democrats in November:

In addition to Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain, Libertarian Bob Barr’s name will be on the North Carolina presidential ballot.
Three other candidates who won’t be on the ballot qualified as write-in presidential candidates: independent Ralph Nader, Green Party candidate Cynthia McKinney, and Socialist Party candidate Brian Moore.

I know...I don't like any of them and will be writing in Ron Paul!

I don't like any of them either, but writing in Ron Paul won't even count.

I'm debating whether to skip the presidential section altogether, or vote for Barr just to help out the LP in the future. I'm leaning toward the latter despite my distaste for Barr.

My understanding is they have to get 2% in either the President or Governors race..

Vote Munger for Governor as well. I think either Barr or Munger will get the 2% but at this point it's hard to tell which one (or both).

Munger is a great candidate, I hope he gets more support the closer we get to Nov.

Some repubs here in Charlotte met him recently and were bowled over with his honesty and quick wit.

He's a winner
