RonPaulSmartMob.com will be a place where we can organize spontaneous demonstrations in real time.

A user goes to the website and says, I'm going to be standing/marching here with a Ron Paul sign at this time.

Other users go to the website, and say, is there anyone demonstrating in my area? Website returns location of demonstrator. Now the other users can go and join in.

We could also add pledges, for instance, I will stand on this corner, but only if 30 other people stand on corners close by.

The idea is that as our numbers increase demonstrations will become larger and more frequent.

Help me hammer out the details and think of all the features we need. I was thinking we could plan out the site/features in a wiki. Is there anyplace online we can do this, or is there premade wiki software I can put on ronpaulsmartmob.com?

After we get the site planned out I'll submit it to scriptlance.com. I'll pay for someone to code it. Or, maybe there is someone motivated enough to do it here for free?

I've been thinking for a while that a site to organize Ron Paul flashmobs would be a fantastic idea.

The wiki for flash mob might give you some good ideas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_mob

Yeah... we have some GREAT new projects in the works and that's just counting the ones I'm involved in personally. I'm sure others are doing great things as well. I'd like to help out on this, since it sounds like another really good idea. I'm really enthused by everything we have going on.
I'm also pushing for the projects I'm involved in to cross-publicize one another and we can all be that much more successful, too!

There is some really good free wiki software floating around. Here's one I know of:

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki

MediaWiki was custom-designed for the high-volume Wikipedia encyclopedia project; it is also used for all other projects run by the Wikimedia Foundation, which operates Wikipedia. It is written in PHP and uses a MySQL or PostgreSQL database backend; however it is publicly available and suitable for tailoring to other applications.

Here's a list of all wiki software:

Great! I'll give that a go. Hopefully it will be up within an hour.
