Don’t wait to be led — Lead!
Here in Minnesota, with the Rally for the Republic behind us, we aren’t taking any vacations.
On September 20 we will be holding our MN Leadership Conference with our local coordinators to encourage them to pick up the reigns themselves to become the leaders in their local GOP.
In Minnesota, local, congressional district, and state party leadership is elected throughout the first half of 2009. To be elected, one is well-advised to demonstrate leadership in advance through sheer willingness to work and organize. To that end, we are urging our local liberty lovers to get active in this election cycle, to find a candidate they can honestly support, and to make themselves indispensable to the local party organization by simply stepping up to bat, by asking “how can I help,” then by outshining the reluctant volunteers.
Although McCain is unpalatable to most of us, Republicans at lower levels, those running for state legislature, county or city offices, or school board elections, often share our views of smaller government. Find those candidates, and be the key to their election! Organize a lit drop or a phone bank. We all did this for Dr Paul, so you know how. That makes you a leader. That gives you grounds for election to party leadership.
Throughout Minnesota, we frequently hear second-hand, via grateful legislators, of Paulians who show up and do the work others in the party aren’t willing to do. And there are liberty giants who are single-handedly providing sympathetic candidates the help they aren’t getting from the established party.
Those worker bees are the ones who will take over leadership in the GOP. Be one. Lead.
