I like the way you think, sir. I won't be able to do anything to aid the cause this time though. *frowny face*

I love it! Can't do Monday, though...

Will the National Guard let us in? Something tells me FEMA will be told to concentrate on Houston and ignore District 14. What a splendid opportunity to offer a marked contrast!

I can't join you but this is a tremendous idea and I'd like to see this sort of thing perpetuated whenever there's a community in need. Even if it's only a few people are able to go, having lived through the aftermath of hurricane damage, I can assure you that the people whom you help will not forget your kindness.

You have a big heart TMike, and I am sure those residents will be beyond grateful when they see you showing up to help!

Wish i could help - great thinking Mike. It sounds enjoyable (for those of you that understand how charity is not a selfless act).

Will Capt. Parker be there?

and while you're at it, how about throwing a few more boulders along the banks of the Mississippi somewhere around New Orleans?

I'd like to go, too, but I want to know that I'll be able to get through the FEMA lines.

the FEMA lines
YES, they could be a problem... but it looks like it will only be a cat 2-3, so maybe not.

It might be the storm surge that is most troubling. I heard 20 foot surge, with 50 foot waves. The sea wall is only 17 feet.

Nice truck, and great attitude, Mike!

I predict TMIKE will be infinitely more efficient and effective than FEMA could ever hope to be, and he'll create good will and make lots of new friends, especially with his furry partner at his side. Thus, the feds will probably run him out of town.

How about we set up a chip in for those of us that can't go. Mike could buy needed supplies? Just a thought.

Set it up.

It should be set up via Mike. Too messy to go from multiple accounts (I've learned the hard way.) And he would have faster access to any money raised.
