Cool. I know who he is and that his primary went extremely well, just didn't know what his chances were in Nov. Goodness knows we need the man in Congress ASAP! I really like him and he may just be the person I want to vote for as President in 2012.

2012? thatd be too early. btw, there are no public polls for him yet

anyway, this pic is a joke because his neocon opponent called him "Ron Paul Jr." as an attack... it apparently didn't work since BJ got over 70% of the vote...

People have been asking about BJs viability.

The truth is that it is very difficult for challengers to unseat incumbents. However, I think that BJ has a better chance than most - both Ron Paul and more traditional republicans. Why? Several reasons.

1. Staffing: If you have a look at BJ's website you'll see that he has a number of outreach coordinators to cover the 4 counties of his congressional district. He also has 5 core paid staff, over 20 student volunteers, 40 allied local activists, plus 5 or 10 hard core supporters - thats nearly 80 people who are all pulling for BJ. Its a lot and its enough to swing a congressional election.

2. Message and Candidate: BJ himself is a compelling interpersonal communicator. He is tall, good looking and has a pleasing tone of voice. In the era of television and internet videos, and worship of movie stars, these things matter. In addition, he comes across as smart - that is, his writing and speech making suggest the candidate can do the intellectual heavy lifting that one would like one's representatives to have. Finally, BJ does a good job conveying the freedom message without it sounding kooky.

3. Funding: BJ has raised nearly $180,000. For a challenger utterly without big time PAC money, thats a LOT of money. Of course, he needs much more, but still he's got a lot of backing.

4. Poll numbers: In BJ's district, GOP candidates get 30% of the vote just for showing up. I personally think that BJ is nearer to the low 40s. Its not enough to win, but there is still a lot of time left in the election. And it suggests that he is viable.

Folks, BJ is the real deal, please feel free to check out his money bomb site, if you like what you see, please pledge:
