I think it is time to bring this movement home, RP needs to run, get backing from Nader, Baldwin, McKinley, and even, yes, Barr.... It is time to make such a ruckus that we are heard, now is the time!

Ron Paul 2008!!!!!!

I agree. He won't do it, however. The antics of the GOP at the convention and the adoption of new rules to exclude us from participating their committees convinced the effort to retake the party was futile.

The Conservative Party (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=154071) is a solution for the future.

If you think you can't take back a simple party, how in the world do you ever expect to take back a nation?

How do you expect to take over a party when they ban your participation on their national committee?

They can't when you have money, the one thing all unsuccessful third party campaigns lack. If a third party had half the money of the Republican or Democratic Party, it would be competitive, and would ultimately replace the party on its side of the aisle.

No time left dude.
But, in theory it'd be awesome.

Money is one area which RP excels at... We need to use it wisely, think more conventions, press events, maybe time blocks of key prime time tv.....

I still wonder once every so often what would have happened if the RP campaign had broadcast one good ad on the Superbowl.

I am beinning to suspect that if Ron Paul had been the Gop Nominee, then only Democrats would be on the ballot.

Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin I'd be willing to bet would tell their electors to vote Ron Paul, and Ron Paul could tell us which slate to vote for (except of course in Louisiana and Montana).

In Texas for sure, except he'd probably be the nominee of the LP and Constitution Party if he was GOP nominee.

It's not really just a "simple party". The evil leviathan neocon republicans have been playing us and growing their movement for 100+ years. It's a difficult thing to conquer! Fuck em! I'll take constitutional freedom, thanks. :D

Who ARE you people that think that "we" have any right to make all of these decisions for RP? Are you people SERIOUS?

No way. No time left and he'd make himself and the movement into a laughing stock when he gets 10% of the vote. No way.

I think you'all need to get up off this Ron Paul Hoooplaaa and jump on board a Cindy MCCain/Michelle Obama presidential ticket. We'll call it the First Wives campaign.

10% isn't a laughing stock for a doctor-turned-congressman from small town Texas. No one was laughing when Ralph Nader got 2.7% in 2000. Besides, he would need only use Barr's line on the ballot. No need for a write-in, just get out the word that Barr=Paul.

Why would you want Ron Paul to go against what he has been saying ever since he lost the nomination of his party. Ron needs to focus on attending more events for the campaign for liberty. A presidential bid will definitely give him more airtime though.

And right now we wouldn't be talking about third party exclusion in the debates, if RP didn't get in the debates, I'd be shocked, and the COPD would have broken its own rules.

How do we expect to have a Republic? And how is it so few people can see that we don't?

I realize we don't have one. The Republican Party (ironically, given their name) seems bound and determined to keep it that way, and they have the authority to make sure their party is in line.
