It seems like Ron Paul is alone in his fight for the presidency.

All he has is the Constitution and a whole bunch of motivated, freedom loving citizens that want to see the underdog triumph. The underdog that believes what we all believe.

But I think that Ron Paul needs some "big names" behind him.

What does Colin Powell think about Ron Paul? You know?

I'm sure that Ron Paul has some support from the more noble inhabitants of D.C. but they are a bit shy about voicing their support.

Also, let's not project all of our hopes on just Ron Paul. He is just one man. He is the leader, but he needs some good generals behind him.

Just thinking and typing folks.

Tucker Carlson and Pat Buchanan need to get behind him.

You know, I've been thinking about who would make a real statement if they came out for Dr. Paul.

As much as he "danced" with Dr. Paul, the one name that keeps coming into my head is ... now don't laugh too hard ...

Alan Greenspan.

Dude... Alan Greenspan? I dunno about that.

As a running mate? Greenspan as VP?

Just kidding.

Why would Greenspan support Paul? Paul hates the Fed and wants it eliminated, and Greenspan used to run it.

The groups and people who need to get behind Ron Paul are the libertarian influences in America.

Cato, Reason, the RLC.

Unfortunately it seems even the LP is reluctant to even mention him in their newspaper.

I know Tucker Carlson likes him...

Before becoming Chairman of the Fed Greenspan was a big supporter of the gold standard.

No, not as running mate but to come out in support of Paul.

Alan wasn't always Fed Chair.

If you look way back in time...

:)

That's why.

I've always felt that Alan didn't change his mind, he was DOING HIS JOB as Fed Chair.

He was "dancing with the one who brung him" so to speak.

Or at least, that's what I suspect.

Greenspan's a statist piece of shit who'd never support Paul in a million years.

Okay, so we can assume that Greenspan isn't down with Ron Paul.

Who would be down with him?

Dude, with all due respect, get real. Colin Powell is a stooge of the Eastern Liberal Establishment and the Council on Foreign Relations. Sure, his buddies made him look like a total idiot when he took the Bush administration's case to the UN. He's living a comfortable retirement and he's the last guy that would defend Ron Paul.

Possibly.

But I think he is the type that people can respect.

He has screwed up a few times.

But he is not hated by most Americans?

If George W. Bush endorsed Ron Paul... we'd be in trouble.

I don't particularly like it when celebrities voice their opinion on politics.

But let's take a guy that is a well known Libertarian.

Clint Eastwood? What does he think?

Someone interview him and get his opinion on Ron Paul.

That would be a boost for Dr. Paul... right?

I know Kurt Russel is a libertarian maybe he and goldy would work.

What about some of the media, someone like Lou Dobbs?

Who would be down with Ron Paul?

Carlson and Buchanan are. McLaughlin might. Probably antiwar Republicans like Walter Jones, Jimmy Duncan, et al. Maybe some dissenting generals and CIA and ex-CIA people like Scheuer, Ritter, etc. There just aren't enough paleos and libertarians allowed by the establishment into the msm. People need to discover sites like chronicles, takimag, the american conservative, lewrockwell, antiwar.com, larison.org, conservativetimes.org, etc.
