I would probably say, like the lyrics in some song I've mostly forgotten, "Impossible things are happening every day."

You could point out that that view about such candidates is what keeps them from being elected, even when those that say that really like what they hear. In reality, it's possible. It just has to be shown that there are people who are actually voting and supporting it. Ergo, the Revolution. :)

Tell them nothing is impossible. Then tell them it is nearly impossible for either McCain or Obama to win a fair election. :D
