OK, I know we all came together in response to a presidential campaign. And very few people worked harder campaigning for Dr. Paul than I did.

But the fact remains that presidential campaigns are, in general, dog and pony shows promoted by the political establishment to divert the public from effective political activity.

THEY want us to concentrate all of our energy, time, money, and emotion on this pointless theatrical farce.

It reinforces THEIR warped interpretation of the constitution in which the executive branch wields inordinate power.

And it lulls us into complacency for the three years in between elections.
It also apparently has worked to cause the self-destruction of our morale as we pinned all of our hopes on a rigged presidential campaign to which the recent Republican National Convention was only the coup de grace.

Not convinced?
You might want to read a short article entitled,

"The Great American Swindle" (http://www.freedomfirstsociety.org/articles/articles/7/1/The-Great-American-Swindle/Page1.html)

If nothing else it might make the experience of this last week a little less bitter.
And I hope it might give you a little better perspective on what we should do going forward.

Go ahead and pick your favorite presidential candidate. And if they excite you enough donate and campaign for them. But realize that the important races are
the congressional races and future campaigns when we WILL have viable candidates that truly represent a choice.

POTUS is something people need to stop talking about until 2011

instead, we need to obviously focus on congress
