Well damn, finally a link to this. Thanks. Seemed like a fine interview to me.

Wellll.....I'm gonna stick with my idea that Ron Paul is testing us. That he wants to see what our mood is on the whole VP thing. I still think the whole Bob Barr skipping Ron's meeting today was planned. Ron has said SEVERAL TIMES that Barr is a personal friend of his.

I thought it was interesting that Cavuto first thing made Bob Barr's press conference out to be the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, rather than Ron Paul's. Hmmm.

Barr is trying to trick Ron Paul into leaving the GOP

Trick?

Whatever...I guess it's all in your perspective. Truthfully, if I were Ron Paul, I'd have left long ago.

There is always the aspect that America is in her dying days, and needs an injection of integrity and intelligence in her candidates SOON. Ron Paul could be that integrity.

What other options are there? We're headed for a massive train wreck, IMO.

Ron Paul has given you your marching orders wgadget. Why do you insist upon pretending you did not hear them?

1. He is not going to run 3rd party.
2. He is staying in the GOP.
3. He wants you to vote your conscience and support 3rd parties instead of abstaining or voting for the lesser of evils.

What is the misunderstanding here?

Ron has said SEVERAL TIMES that Barr is a personal friend of his.

PAUL: I ain't leavin' the GOP Bobby. Juss forgettaboutit.

BARR: Hey Ronny I'm fine. Forgettabout me skipping the conference and all. This is juss business. :D

PAUL: Yea yea, juss business. I know the game.

The "big announcement" was that Bob Barr asked Ron Paul to be his running mate.
"We didn't attend b/c it is not mine or Wayne's interest in diluting our message, or the importance of a Barr/Root ticket"
"We believe this is about leadership and leading the Libertarian agenda from inside the Republican Party as Ron is trying to do and simply telling the American people as he apparently did earlier today, 'well we have several candidates out there today, they are all okay, vote for one of them if you will'"

"Ron Paul had a PC today that was somewhat pointless"

Stab that knife a bit deeper Bobby.

Apparently the reason BB lied and said he would be there, then lied and said he was never committed is because he doesn't want to dilute the Barr/ROOT ticket.

Bob Barr knows that Ron Paul would not run third party, and should have asked him privately. By asking him again to run 3rd party, and then announcing it publicly, he has made Ron Paul seem as if he has let down his own movement.

It is so sad and pathetic what Bob Barr and his cronies have done.

What he said in that interview sounds like a toned down version of his field coordinators attack on Ron Paul.

Well...He has effectively left me up in the air. I can't vote for Baldwin because he's not on the ballot.

How about this scenario: Ron Paul decides to accept Barr's offer, and then we do what Ron wants us to do---that is, vote for the Libertarian Party?

I take it you feel there's absolutely NO WAY that Ron Paul is testing the waters...oh, well. I can dream.

I don't see how the dots get connection between Bar's mustache being a douche and Ron Paul wanting to be his VP.

I love Paul as much as any of you here, but Barr was absolutely correct in calling the conference pointless. I don't see how it is going to have any impact on anything. 99 out of a hundred people probably don't even know he had a press conference today :P

I like Barr even less after seeing this. He doesn't want to be on the team, he wants to take it over. He's already experiencing that hunger for power that he doesn't even have yet.

Well, Ron Paul is the only one with the record that we can rely on. Do we really want Ron Paul serving under a potential CIA operative neocon that may be simply acting to try to suppress our revolution? I'm sure that the CIA trained him for that kind of thing.

Bob Barr: "Pointless Press Conference"

Neil Cavuto: "We got the big news today, that we were waiting for. Bob Barr has announced that he would accept Ron Paul as his Vice Presidential Running mate."

Bob Barr, the vanity in you, is really sickening... physically, not just just metaphorically.

Oh yea, and screw Bob "neocon" Barr.

Anyone want to just scream with the big news is Ron Paul can be Barr's assistant?? If they are so worried about diluting the barr/root message why are they trying to get rid of root?Oh yeah, to take over momentum that rightfully belongs to the one honest politician and it sure is heck ain't Bobby Barr. Fatal career move there. I second the fact that this is just a milder version of the trash put up on myspace today. Guess they can retract that blog but we all know where Barr stands in the liberty movement, right beside McCain and Obama.

Better watch what you say, or you'll be called a neocon.

Aside from Ron's campaign aides being total and ineffective moron's Barr had nothing but praise for Ron, Wayne Allyn Root praised him, Barr wanted him to be on the ballot with him, but, somehow, this makes him a neocon. I don't see Baldwin asking Paul to be on the ticket ( even though I don't have anything bad to say about Baldwin...just not my taste). God forbid Barr express his right to free speech and give an "off the head" opinion. How DARE he dephile the supreme leader. Sounds like you guys belong in communist China.

Again, I can't wait 'till Ron comes out and says he has no ill will towards Barr. Everyone here who has no life aside from the computer and message board does nothing but jump at every little thing they think is a flaw. Fact of the matter is most of them overreacting have never contributed a penny to the LP, the Constitution Party, and some of them never contributed to Ron.

Actions speak louder than words, people. You can bitch and moan all you want but YOU aren't doing anything to advance the message of freedom except complain. Wherever Barr has gone he's championed freedom. Take it or leave it, that's your choice; but don't go and make up lies because, until not showing today, Barr hasn't slipped up once, and to be honest it's awfully pathetic him not showing to a little press conference confirms your worst fears.

Is this A joke???

LAUGHING MY ASS OFF RIGHT NOW.
yeahhh right.
Let me ask you this-
since they asked RP to "step down" from his own REPUBLICAN Congressinal district MONTHS AND MONTHS ago, and since EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE MSM has asked him the SAME QUESTION for months on end, and the ANSWER HAS BEEN THE SAME, WHAT was Bob Barr's point in asking him AGAIN????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????

Exactly. We don't. And, might I add, he DID sign on to Ron's 4 point plan, He did ask Ron to be on the ticket one last time to advance liberty, and he has been championing the message wherever he goes.

I want see Paul on the ballot in all 50 states. He should accept the VP slot, pronto.. Get into the debates. Kick ass all over the place.

Then we won't have to worry about reforming the GOP or pretending that the socialists voting for nader or mckinley actually have anything in common with liberty.

me3
09-11-2008, 01:15 PM
Barr won't even be on 50 ballots. Heck, he can't even raise $1 million from his own party. There are Congressmen who raise more than $1 million for their campaigns. There is zero buzz, so he decided to play a political game with Ron Paul, and now true lovers of liberty are running from his banner as fast as they can.

It's one thing to have a beef with Dr. Paul's staff. I'm not a big fan of Don myself. But attacking Dr. Paul personally the way Barr did, well that's more than offside. That's a big F'ing problem for me.
