According to a spokesman, Mr. Paul plans to say that the Republican and Democratic candidates “have no substantive differences on important issues.”

The four third-party candidates, on the other hand, have agreed to sign on to a four-point plan that includes balancing the federal budget, bringing American troops home, protecting civil liberties and investigating the Federal Reserve.

Hmmm unified ticket?

Without unifying the parties, his four point plan means nothing. Wonder why this is leaked out piecemeal.

and investigating the Federal Reserve

Hmmm....investigating is a strong word. Implies criminal activity...which of course is true but I haven't ever heard RP talk of them as criminals before.

If there is not going to be a unifying ticket then this is pretty much useless

Agreed. We need one big party, not 4 small ones.

The demo-publican party is like one giant bully. Four small punches will not do anything to him. But combine the might of 4 small punches into one big punch and then some damage will occur.

They should have just given ballot access to Ron Paul. He could get 25% or more and make the debates. blah

So, what exactly would happen if they unified now, with regards to who is on the ballot? For example, they unite under the Constitution party, but the only 3rd party on the ticket in Georgia is the Libertarian party. Do we just write in whichever one they decide to support for President, and if we have to write them in, would the votes count?
Unless I have a reason to do otherwise, I will vote Libertarian this time around. I know RP's stance has so far been that we should work within the existing parties, but maybe the GOP's shenanigans have finally changed his mind. I hope so, because I think it would take significantly longer to win them over than it would to burn the party down and start over.

His stance HAS been tow ork within the parties thusfar..... but he has also stated unequivically that he will not support either major party candidate THIS election.

Maybe the 4 candidates can pool together and get Ron Paul to represent them in the debate, fighting JM & BO ?!

I call for unity among all the 4 small parties.

Let's back Paul ,or Barr ,though.

It's kind of too late anyway.

Glad that failed and this one has legs.
