Rep. Ron Paul, the former Republican presidential candidate who excited a multitude of young voters during the primaries, announced a “major” news conference in Washington Wednesday.

With a range of third-party candidates at his side – including the Libertarian Party’s Bob Barr, independent candidate Ralph Nader, the Constitution Party’s Chuck Baldwin and the Green Party’s Cynthia McKinney – it’s unlikely that Paul will pick just one to support. But his spokesman said to expect “something of an endorsement,” with “a real effect on this fall’s election.”

a "real effect on this fall's election?" Hmmm...not too sure about that one.

He will say vote 3rd party but not say which one.

I don't think that would rise to the "special announcement" level. More likely is the announcement of a third party debate. That would be major, and unprecedented.

He'll reveal that Oprah has silently switched her support.

I'm pretty sure.

Barr has said (http://reason.com/blog/show/128105.html) that he won't debate other third party/independent candidates. I suppose he could've changed his mind but that's one of the reasons I don't think it will happen.

I think Barr would have changed his mind by now. He needs the exposure, like all the third party candidates do. We'll know tomorrow. I like the hype though. Since the WSJ is writing about it, some hype is probably going around.

A debate with Ron Paul as the moderator asking his own questions and encouraging the Republicrats to answer the same questions in their debates. Now THAT would rock!

barr is not in a position to demand a dam thing, hell i was going to vote for barr, but he has lost my vote...... what is it that barr thinks he can demand??? he better start debating someone or at least drop root and add ron paul until then the lp/barr will not see a penny of my donation money........ but then again barr doesn't need any money he has a huge base of support(sarcasm)

Fuck yeah. When the Democrats and Republicans won't let you in their party you have a bigger and better party. By party I mean debate and by Democrats and Republicans I mean Shitheads and Dickheads.
