I sent the suggestion for a "new donor" meetup contribution to RPHQ. Track the number of new donors and the total amount raised from new donors.

Regarding participation: you could have meetup members log in and self record their participation for the month. Ideally, this would be visible for all members of that group to see. Yes, you will get some activity inflation (people embarrassed to report they did nothing) but you should also get a substantial increase in real activity.

Ok, can you give me an example of how that helps increase participation, getting people out to attend events, hit the streets, etc?

MarchAcross is one good event comming up!!!!

I can tell you what we're doing in PA. We're setting up so that at the end of every month, we do a combined materials purchase. When you start putting purchasing power together, it helps everyone.

I'm sort of hoping that states can form together and then we'll be able to link the states and make the grassroots more effective and communicative. Local concerns will win the day, of course, but having that connection is invaluable for keeping aware of the bigger picture.
