“stabilization” or "bailout". call it what you want, cost's the same.

"give the two failing agencies $200 billion of your money"
how much is that per person? I don't know the taxed population.

Barr: “bailout from hell”
September 8th, 2008 by Jason Pye

Bob Barr has been one of the most vocal opponents of the looming mortgage bailout. He spoke out against it while it was making its way through Congress. He took his message to the airwaves and explained the government should not toss around taxpayer dollars so easily and that government should decrease regulation and privatize Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

We found out over the weekend that the federal government seized control of Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac and will give the two failing agencies $200 billion of your money.

Of course, the Bush Administration is doing what they do best, blaming others for their mistakes. They want us to believe that Congress is to blame for this mess. While it is true that Congress deserves part of the blame, Bush and his administration deserve just as much. After all, he signed the housing bill that allowed for this type of intervention into law.

The Bush Administration is also trying to tell us that this isn’t a “bailout.” He preferred to call it a “stabilization.” Leaving most of us scratching our heads, making us wonder what a bailout would have looked like.

Today on Your World w/ Neil Cavuto, Bob discussed the actions of the federal government, calling it the “bailout from hell”:

Bob Barr is the only candidate for president that has constantly opposed a bailout of the housing industry. Both Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama have endorsed this taxpayer-funded takeover, which only adds to your share of the budget deficit and national debt.

Milton Friedman once said that the American economy is “more than half socialist.” You can’t help but believe that we’ve made that transition with this takeover and the effect it will have on taxpayers.
