The only thing the stimulus check did for us is save us from paying interest on credit cards. We used the whole thing to pay off a couple of credit cards, one which we used to put insulation in our house so we wouldn't have high heating bills...That's all the check did, so I guess in a way, I should thank George Bush in not letting money go to the banks, LOL...At least that's what I think, I don't have a clue where interest goes, all I know is I pay a load of it...

A lot of people used their stimulus checks to pay down debt, which improved banks' reserve ratios. I am convinced that this was the principal objective (no pun intended).
