Someone at lunch was telling me this, but I told him I've never heard of this before. I wasn't 100% sure if he was or wasn't many years ago, does anyone know?

Sorry, but spelling errors really irritate me to no end. This one is so prevalent and has been used so often here that I can't sit by and let it go anymore.

Secessionists get a bad name and are not necessarily racists or militarists. For example, there's a rabid secessionist movement going on in Vermont right now, predominantly among liberals and socialists.

There is a secession movement here but I wouldn't call it rabid.

It has 15% support according to the latest Zogby poll. It is the only movement that has actually been able to garner near the entirety of the people who support secession in that state or region. The South supports secession with 25% of the electorate, and yet Southern Secessionist parties don't get much support, and they usually dissolve not long after formation.

15% is good, but it's not enough. The majority of Vermonters don't even know there is a secession movement. They wouldn't support it even if they did. The most liberal state in the union is not going to be easily weaned off of its federal teat.

I am not sure. It would take a lot of convincing, but it still holds true that it is the most active movement.
