I wonder if it was a disgruntled behind the scenes GOPer making a statement. I heard that Lieberman is a major sticking point between the party and McCain.

I'm starting to think this was just a Colbert joke, since I can't find anything else on it.

definitely real, listen to the convention people all quiet down. i dont see how this could be fakled, but they managed to cover it up i guess in teh media if its true, or its fake. id like to hear from someone who heard it.

The reason why McCain didn't pick Lieberman is because Rove was afraid of a revolt at the GOP convention in favor of a new nominee.
