A peaceful concert on the capitol lawn took a turn when rumors started circulating that Rage Against the Machine would play. Supposed headliners Anti-Flag finished up their set and told the crowd: "Stay put: shit's gonna get crazy."

What proceeded can only be described as organized chaos. As fans chanted "Let them play" and "Our Capitol," Rage band members could be seen on the capitol steps arguing with state troopers. After about 15 minutes of chanting and arguing with police, the band walked around the perimeter of the stage and into the crowd.
Grabbing a bullhorn, Zach de la Rocha asked the crowd to be quiet and sit down. He addressed the crowd with anti-war messages and then led the crowd in an a capella sing-a-long of "Killing in the Name" accompanied by bandmate Tom Morello.

As the crowd began to get restless, de la Rocha and Morello led the audience of approximately 2,000-3,000 people on an impromptu march along Cedar Street. Coincidentally, or perhaps on purpose, the Poor Peoples' Human Rights Campaign was also conducting a march. The two marches converged on Cedar Street and collectively moved toward the Xcel Center, where thousands are now congregated.

Stopped at the part where he blamed Bush and McCain etc... for the war. Not sure if he went to diss the democrats, cus he fails if he didn't.

Will have to see it all to form my opinion. These guys know about Rp right? Or do they hate capitalism etc? tards.

If they are only blaming the republicans then it would make sense why they didn't perform at the R4R. They sound like a bunch of stupid socialists who think we're all gettin' some hope & change soon.

EDIT: Of course I forget, they did protest at Denver too.

They are socialists, but i just ignore that because i love their music and agree with the fundamental themes (i.e. a middle finger to authority)

If it's the right one, they should be showing Bush morphing into Al Gore, and talking about how the price of oil is "set". They are NOT for the two party system in any way, shape or form. They are revolutionaries.

They may have a bit more than a hint of socialism in them, but socialists are NOT inherently bad people, they have just been misled. Many of them have very good ideas and reasoning when it comes to the majority of other subjects such as civil rights, foreign affairs, etc. They just don't understand that big government is the cause of most of these problems. They are ahead of the rest of America, however, because they are able to identify the problems and not ignore them!!

I have to disagree. Socialists, whether they are misled or not, would make the problems worse with their potential programs. At least most Americans are smart enough not to listen to them

He proved you can fight the establishment.

By murdering and torturing people and having absolutely no moral scruples...somehow, I feel like there are better ways.

However, I have to agree with dannno here...the RATM guys have been misled into thinking capitalism is the cause of all of our economic ills, so it's only natural that they'd consider socialism and its "feel-good brotherhood" to be the only possible alternative. They're severely misdiagnosing our problems and applying the wrong solution, but at least they've thought enough to realize we have problems...unlike your garden variety Republican, for instance (or to a lesser degree, your garden variety Democrat - although they also lean closer to misdiagnosing problems than being entirely oblivious to them). They're halfway there, so to speak. After spending most of my short life as a belligerent neocon, I became disillusioned and found myself attracted to socialism. Although my flirtation with that ideology didn't last nearly as long as RATM's, I was obviously able to come around...so maybe if Obama wins and we HAVE socialism, and the world devolves into a one world government Orwellian nightmare scenario, the RATM guys might open up their eyes and change their minds, too. :p

In any case, I like their anti-authority attitude...but Che Guevara is still an asshole.

You peeking in my window looking at the posters on my wall?

Don't be a presumptive perry. I'm pointing out the ignorance in thinking that liberalism is socialism lite.

I guess that makes me a Che Guevara fan in your strange little corner of the world.

liberalism has different meaning to different people. American liberalism is socialism lite. Classical liberalism is what Ron Paul espouses

GOOD. This is where those backstabbing Ron Paul delegates that voted for McCain went.

I hope they got their skulls bashed in.
