For NV and WA state.

Seemed to have sided with the local party in both cases - RNC convention on C-SPAN

yup they sure did.

When they make nominations someone better take the floor and nominate Ron Paul.

I believe they just moved to make the currently seated delegates participating in tonight's temporary roll, into the permanent roll.

It was the credentialing committee chair announcing their decision.

I'd rather hear good news, but this is no surprise.

Does that define the quorum total count in terms of the number needed to give McCain the nomination?

The Quorum total count required is, "half plus one". Half of all delegates seated plus one delegate.

Will the nomination be next??

I really can't stomach the speeches:rolleyes:

Right now they're delivering the RNC platform. I think they have ~ 2 hours left on their schedule tonight.

I thought RP couldn't be nominated from the floor without having a majority of delegates from 5 states?

I'm waiting to see if a voice vote of acclamation for McCain is tried:eek:

I'm noticing that there is *no* personal responsibility/accountability for voice votes-

At the beginning they announced that certain parts of Roberts Rules wouldn't be allowed without the pre-approval of the convention committee. I'm sure that covers anything that would add a name to be considered.

That's what I thought I heard - however, acclamation was mentioned (but only if pre-approved?)

Any bets on pre-approval?

Too late to try it this time, but I'd make a strong argument that if there is no individual voice count, but just group i's, then you also aren't bound. Certainly, there is no legal controlling authority that could say you i'd or nayed.

On general i's without formal voting, vote how you want since it is not a bound vote.
