I think RP campaign has made a significant difference even if it may take years before majority of Americans get to appreciate RP's judgments on Iraq, foreign policy, fiscal policy and civil liberties issues.

What you guys think has been impact of RP campaign so far on America's political landscape?

I think RP campaign has made a significant difference . . .

Great question - I know the Ron Paul candidacy for the 2008 GOP POTUS nomination has made a significant difference for me personally,
restoring some prospect for restoring the U.S. Constitution to the original intent of the 55 framers who convened in Philly in the summer of 1787.

I think we have just begun, and in some future year ( or alas, some future decade ) political historians may very well
regard this as an important stepping stone to a future constitutionalist libertarian Republican candidate.

Have a great college kickoff weekend everybuddy!

Well, he brought me here. Unfortunately, I was uneducated regarding politics/philosophy/religion during the time of canvassing. From being here and communicating with you lot, I do like to think I'm a significantly improved voter (and hopefully a better canvasser), though I'm sure I still have a long way to go before I'm comfortable answering any political/administrative/ethical question thrown at me.

Government has grown even larger since the beginning of the RP campaign. So no.

We need to shed the very idea of government as necessity before we can evolve here.

It woke many people up to how corrupt the media really is. They trashed Paul at every turn, and outright lied in many instances. Mostly, they omitted him wherever possible.

Unfortunately, the media also learnd something. Smearing a popular grass roots candidate doesn't work. A blackout does work.

It is like the rocket ship analogy. It spends 80% of it's fuel during take off. After that, it is smooth sailing. We are still taking off. We need to burn more fuel until we reach that point.

of course it has changed.... there are hundreds of people running for local, state, and federal offices because of this movement, there are politicians changing their minds, there are media correspondents slowly changing their minds, there are celebrities speaking out.... and thats just this year..... think of how that will just grow over the next 5 years (if we make it that long :))

Well, I thought years ago that Ross Perot had made a difference in American politics, but that movement faded. I'm not as committed to whatever principals Perot espoused as I am to those presented by Paul, so there has been progress in a direction that doesn't rely on the individual. That is a good thing. One year during the Nixon administration, my father told me that things would get better in America once there was a revolution. I have hopes, more so for my 3 year old daughter than for myself, that this year marks the beginning of that Revolution, but I am not certain that the kindling is dry enough for this spark to start the fire. Things may have to get a lot worse before they get a lot better.

Hello,

As a Classic Liberal/Paleo-Conservative it was kind of a very inspiring year to see the momentum that Ron Paul has generated in the spreading of truly American ideals. While he was not able to win the primaries, there are many indicators in my opinion that show a new generation of electorate are gaining control, and the old guard of both parties are losing the influence they had.

- To me it was obvious the establishment of both parties wanted a Clinton/Giuliani battle come november, this was made obvious by the trail of special interest dollars and party influence. While there two candidates were able to keep the traditional voters on their side. It was two candidates who had the image of outside of the beltway who ended up winning primarily supported by non-traditional party voters.

- Biden/Mccain are washington veterans who have a history of overstepping party boundaries, and represent the reformers of old.

- Obama/Palin represent the new reform of their respective parties and will be the face and voices of their parties to the next generation of US politics that this election is signaling.

- The Palin VP pick to me is a concession by the RNC that they'll need traditional conservatives and libertarians to have a chance in November.

- The growing momentum of Ron Paul Campaign for Liberty shows that while we did not win this year, the signs above that signal a new openess to ideas by the electorate is alive and we are capitalizing on it for future success.

This is a new era, the country is passing the baton to a new generation. The policies and direction this new generation decides begins this november, and either choice will result in more government intervention. Although if we continue to fight to educate and chage the way people thing the government structure will change along with those ideas.

So educate, learn, and be free

Actually, Ron appeared on the scene at the right place and time. The internet (rapid global communications) and decades of discontent with corrupt politicians was simply the fuel that Ron ignited with his candidacy for the GOP nomination for POTUS. In other words, the brush has been growing for decades. Ron simply lit the match.

We need a larger base. Good start.

I'm not sure how it can grow from here but good start i guess.
