What about the Rally for the Republic? Are they still holding it?

Yes, they are still holding the Rally for the Republic. Unlike the GOP, Ron Paul and his supporters do not have resources to reschedule it, so it will go on as scheduled.

Looks like Gustav is now tracking about 60 miles west of N.O. for Monday Night. I really have a feeling the GOP will use it as a excuse to pull out of MN and cancel.

For like 3 days it has remained a tropical storm....it may be a pushover storm by the time it reaches New Orleans

They won't do it. Too much money at stake and too many people it would piss-off. Now if another National Disaster happens in Louisiana, which I don't think will happen... Then that's a different story.

Its been on top of Jamaica and Haiti during that time. Once it hits the warm open waters of the gulf it will pick up extremely quick. It should be a Hurricane by tomorrow morning if not sooner. The current models are still indicationg it going west of the big easy though.

I don't see the RNC being postponed, why? If this was done at the last minute, where would all the media coverage be?? I would speculate that those in the media might think something like this: "well, Ron Paul is having his mini convention down the street, maybe we should go there..." That would be a good thing as the Rally could get huge coverage, so I don't care if they postpone the RNC. It would only positive for us.

You don't quite get it.... if this becomes a huge hurricane that hits a major city the media will be there. NOT in MN. for any conventions.

this is looking to be worse then Katrina. I at this time will be very surprised if the GOP convention goes on.

This could actually be great for the R4R. There's going to be an insane amount of media in town, and if there's nothing going on t the GOP Convention, then, they'll just sit in their hotel rooms and watch porn. No, they'll cover the R4R!!

Ummm.... The media will not be in town. They are all heading to the Hurricane Area.

No they won't be, totally different media. Politic experts do NOT go into hurricanes.
