hmm but if you have a mortgage does it count as ownership... the bank owns it in that case... your just paying them back.

hmm but if you have a mortgage does it count as ownership... the bank owns it in that case... your just paying them back.

so, if you have a lien on your property you no longer own it?
I think you own it, until you default, then the bank owns it.
The house is collateral for the loan. The bank didn't buy the house. You did. You bought the money from the bank.

edit: the bank is not my landlord. it doesn't pay my property taxes, or my home owner's insurance, nor is it liable for the property in any way. (they won't fix my A/C or call the plumber to fix my toilet)

think of this from a car perspective. If you buy a car who has possession of the title? The Bank until you pay it off right?

think of this from a car perspective. If you buy a car who has possession of the title? The Bank until you pay it off right?

If my tree falls on my neighbors house, who is liable? Me or the bank holding my title?

torchbearer

Just because the bank holds the title, doesn't mean they own it.
You may percieve it that way, but that isn't how it works.
You own it. They hold the title hostage until you pay them what you owe them.
Then they give it back.
But they don't take OWNERSHIP of the property, unless you break the contract.

heath.whiteaker
08-28-2008, 02:41 PM
that argument doesn't work. Just like a car. If you financed it the bank owns it. If you get in an accident your insurance pays for it. You pay to have a tag on it. All I am trying to say is that the only people that are 100% property owners/home owners are the people that have the DEED. If you do not have the deed your not the owner.

If you mortgage is in good standings. You have fulfilled you contract. You make your payments.
The bank cannot force you out of your house like a renter. They can't sell your house because they don't own it.
They can't rent out your spare room.
They don't own it. Just have your title as a security that you will pay them back.

He addressed the Young endorsement controversy

Yeah, and he said one thing I hated. He said he had a policy to uphold republican congressional incumbents. Darn. How "political" of him. Oh well..I still love him.

After all the barnstorming he's doing against McCain, Im puzzled why he'd keep such a policy

Has he ever come out against universal suffrage before in a recent interview? That was kinda new to me.
