With 99.77 percent of precincts reporting on Wednesday, Mr. Young, a 35-year incumbent seeking re-election, led Mr. Parnell by 152 votes out of more than 93,500 cast.
An unknown number of votes, potentially several thousand, remained to be counted from absentee and questionable ballots still either in the mail or being reviewed, said Shelly Growden, a spokeswoman for the state’s Division of Elections. Ms. Growden said that election officials hoped to have counted all ballots by Sept. 5, and that either candidate could then request a recount.
Pretty close race. :D And they won't know until at least after the end of the RNC.
