I've been thinking about driving over the hill and going, but I am concerned that I will get myself thrown out and embarrass the campaign.

Noone will throw you out, the more people that show up and complain about the obvious FOX coronation to reporters outside the better. Yes it will be frustrating inside but as frustrating as it is with contrived media inside the grass roots outside will be worth it.
