LOOKS LIKE WE CAN SEE WHY NANCY PELOSI DOESNT WANT TO LET USA DRILL FOR OIL....HERES A PIECE FROM THE MERCED SUN TIMES, WHICH HAS EXPOSED THE THIEVERY OF THE SPEAKERETTE OF THE HOUSE!

Nancy Pelosi January 18, 2006,

Washington, D.C. House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, Congresswoman Louise Slaughter of New York, and Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, unveiled Democrats Honest Leadership, Open Government Act, which will restore honesty, integrity, and openness to government.

We come to find out 95% of the bills passed were without discussion or vote under Pelosi's watch. Then we see Pelosi refuse to allow a vote on offshore drilling. To the point she turned off the lights and the electricity. Then left on her book tour.

Pelosi accused Republicans of promoting the interests of Big Oil and the Bush administration, something that has resulted in $4-a-gallon gasoline, she said.

Pelosi's tax bill that will make the taxpayer fund her growing multi millions.

H.R. 6 - Repealing Big Oil Subsidies/Investing in Renewable Fuels

This bill invests in clean, renewable energy and energy efficiency by repealing billions in subsidies given to big oil companies that are raking in record profits. Specifically, the measure ensures oil companies that were awarded the 1998 and 1999 leases for drilling paid their fair share in royalties. It also closes loopholes and ends giveaways in the tax code for Big Oil. Finally, the bill creates a Strategic Renewable Energy Reserve to invest in clean, renewable energy resources, promoting new emerging technologies, developing greater efficiency and improving energy conservation.

Why no Drilling?

Money. It would appear that the driving force behind Madam Speakers quick and forceful adjournment of Congress is money.
According to Michigan Taxes Too Much blog, Madam Speaker has a substantial amount of money invested in Clean Energy Fuels Corporation.

Clean Energy Fuels Corporation is a business venture started by none other than T. Boone Pickens.

She, and other investors, stand to gain a substantial return on their investment if gasoline prices stay high and municipal, state and even the Federal governments start using natural gas as their primary fuel source.

If gasoline prices fall? Alternative fuels and the cost to convert fleets over to them becomes less and less attractive.

UPDATE 8/12/08 2:16 PPM
The initial offering may have been only 22,000 or so shares, but according to a Yahoo news item: Item 8.01. Other Events.

On June 19, 2007, the Company issued a press release announcing that the underwriters of the Companys initial public offering have elected to exercise in full their option to purchase an additional 1,500,000 shares of the Companys common stock to cover over-allotments. A copy of the press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this report and is incorporated herein by reference.

This means that Pelosi could have purchased around 20,000 shares at $3.86, or $50,000 to $100,000 worth, which are now worth 300% more than their original value.

Nancy Pelosi says that she is trying to save the planet and prevent global warming, but the reality is that, according to disclosure statements, in May 2007 she invested in T. Boone Pickens clean energy fuels corp., CLNE, which is the sole sponsor of a proposal in California to funnel $5 billion in state funds and $5 billion in Federal funs to this corporation which will indirectly help them create a giant wind farm in the Texas panhandle.

An overlooked story in November of 2007 shows that the T. Boone Pickens plan involves the private control of water, which Pickens wants to be able to sell to big cities via giant water pipelines which will be built on land seized under eminent domain.

How did he do this? He did this by pushing through a water district which consists of only 8 acres of land and then applying eminent domain to expand that district and seize land from local ranchers which, in the end, puts vital water resources under his private control.

Pickens needs money and he has not been able to find investors to pay for a $110 Billion Bond he wants his new water authority to issue, therefore he is piggy-backing the windmill plan on to the water infrastructure development plan to use the money obtained for the wind farms in order to pay for the water infrastructure, which was his original goal.

While these plans were in the works as of November 2007, with the creation of this water district, the energy company, CLNE, was offered for public investment in an IPO in May of 2007, an IPO that was not advertised, but which resulted in Nancy Pelosi quickly jumping on board. Nancy Pelosi Purchased between $50,000-$100,000 in CLNE stock on May 25, 2007 apparently on its initial public offering.

It is hard to tell if the water scheme is the device being used to seize the land or if the wind turbine scheme is the means by which he will fund the water scheme, but no matter what the case may be, Nancy Pelosi will personally profit from whatever he does as an investor.

AND WHILE WE ALL PAY $4 A GALLON FOR GAS, PELOSI AND HER DEMO-BUDDIES RAKE IN THE CASH!~

HAVE A LOOK AT THE REAL OBAMA......13 MINUTES WILL NEVER HURT YOU.

people say that bush is the prablem for gas, but really if you look at it, gass prices hardly rose during the first six years of his administration (except for katrina) but after pelosi became speaker, gas prices rose to 200% of what they were before...

Not that I am a fan of Pelosi (I am certainly not) but Republicans are profiting more from high oil prices thans she is. Both sides have refused to bring bills to the floor that they disagree with. Pelosi has no influence on the price of gas and allowing drilling off the coasts (many areas are already available for drilling) will not change the price we pay for gas anyways. We do not have enough oil of our own (20 billion barrels) to be able to impact the world market of oil with only 1.7% of the world total of proven reserves. We consume 7 billion barrels a year so all of our reserves would only last us for less than three years if we did not import any oil. This is why we need to have alternatives.

Even if we do allow more drilling (which I am also not against) it will be several years before any of that oil reaches the market- bid on lease, get approved, do exploration, drill test wells, test resources, construct oil rigs and transit system (shipping? pipeline?), refine. In the mean time, other sources production is falling so you will be merely replacing some of that- not increasing total production. US oil production has been falling since the 1970's.

John McCain was against drilling off shore too. He changed his mind after a $300,000 donation to his campaign. http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/08/08/mccains-oil-donors/

Yesterday, two stories appeared regarding John McCain's fund-raising operation.

First came word that McCain was returning $50,000 in donations from a Florida bundler named Harry Sargeant. From The Washington Post:

Sargeant, who runs the International Oil Trading Co., in Boca Raton, Fla., said he asked several friends and colleagues to gather the funds for McCain.

Among the "friends" who went out and collected?

Sargeant said in an interview yesterday that at times he left the task of collecting the checks to a longtime business partner, Mustafa Abu Naba'a, who is not an American citizen. According to court reports, Abu Naba'a is a dual citizen of Jordan and the Dominican Republic.

Money raised by Abu Naba'a is being returned. Sargeant raised at least an additional $460,000 for McCain, some of which was gathered on his behalf by a former high-ranking CIA anti-terrorism expert who is now Sargeant's business partner. Sargeant did not name any of the other associates who may have helped him with fundraising.

Second is the revelation that Hess Corporation executives donated $300,000 to McCain's coffers just days before the Arizona Senator recanted his off-shore drilling position. Furthermore, it was revealed, two of McCain's top campaign officials have worked as lobbyists for Hess.

Everybody is part of the problem right now- not just Peolsi.

This is the smartest thing I've heard today.Right...There is someone somewhere getting richer off of Our blood and sweat and there wasn't any real issues until the corporate lobbyists bought out some favors from Our feircely loyal and patrioatic elected officials.Right...
I see a bunch of peterheads that think they know what's best for this nation and how to get rich in the process. What I cannot believe is that you all just want to set back, in denial of what is really happening, and let it go.Well, not all.
