Abortion: Pro-Life

Gun Control: Pro 2nd Amendment

Marijuana: Legalize it

Other Drugs: Legalize them

Oil Drilling: Do it

Illegal Immigrants: Close the borders, send'em back, no anchor babies

Homeland Security: Way overdone

Free Health Care: Bad Idea

Foreign Policy: Intervene for our allies and defend ourselves only.

Global Warming: Not the biggest problem, but keep working on it.

Gay Marriage: Don't regulate marriage, let the church do that

Death Penalty: For certain Murders, mass-murders, with no remorse, etc.

Polygamy: Don't regulate marriage, let the church do that

Gambling: Legalize

Age Of Consent: Lower, or abolish

National ID's: Against

*Foreign Trade Policy: Eliminate all tariffs (though tariffs can be imposed out of peacetime), no trade embargoes.

*Transportation: Change license requirements to only being able to pass a test and height requirements.

*Unions: Mandate Right-To-Work laws on the federal level. Protect workers' ability to voluntarily unionize.

*Education:Eliminate mandated standardized tests. Allow parents and students to decide highest class attended. Eliminate Tuition for out of district Elementary through High School. Require schools to provide their tuition/year rate, less they forfeit their right to be eligible for vouchers. Provide vouchers that pay 75% of the average tuition/year. Any excess funding will go back to the treasury department.

*Taxes:

Income Tax - Eliminate
Corporate Taxes - Eliminate
Excise Taxes - Eliminate
Inheritance Tax - Eliminate
National Sales Tax (internet included!) - ~10% (~ $1.3 trillion in annual revenue)
IRS - No tax filing req'd for individuals who do not own a business.

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't:

Social Security - $2,000 for each year working full-time to be refunded to all for those not currently on social security benefits. Maintain the full benefits for those currently on the system. Completely eliminate the program and all associated programs in 40 years, giving those still alive $25,000.
National debt - Increase national sales tax % as needed to slowly (~20-30 years) eliminate the national debt. Once the national debt is eliminated, there should be a Constitutional amendment that disqualifies the President, Vice President, and all members of congress from running for ANY political office should there be an annual deficit over .5% of the annual GDP for that year. There should be a small but independent federal department to watch those statistics and alert the public and the FCC if a violation of that amendment occurs.

*Currency: If feasible, switch back to the Gold and Silver Standard

*Intellectual Property "Rights": Leave the laws as they are.

*Net Neutrality: No internet regulation or censorship unless the activity causes damage to a person, persons, or a company.

Abortion: Anti-Life

Gun Control: Eliminate.

Marijuana: Legalize it.

Other Drugs: Legalize "soft" drugs (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/78/Hard_and_soft_drugs.svg/774px-Hard_and_soft_drugs.svg.png).

Oil Drilling: Property owners may do as they please with their property - including drilling for oil.

Illegal Immigrants: Eliminate all quotas, make fees due to the naturalization department flexible, increase the difficulty of the citizenship questions.

Homeland Security: Cut spending by at least 1/3, focus on SDI and similar defenses.

Health Care: Eliminate Medicaid/Medicare, allow each citizen three free ambulance rides at taxpayer expense and leave it at that.

Foreign Policy: Isolationism. Keep trade open, no embargoes (less tariffs) or threats - stay out of all non-US affairs that are not an imminent threat. Require a declaration of war for troops to be stationed anywhere outside the U.S. Get out of all current world organizations we are involved with.

Global Warming: If it's important to people, the invisible hand will self-regulate to benefit the environment (and their marketing department). Corporations will introduce more (they already are making big pushes toward eco-friendly products) eco-friendly products so long as there is demand for it.

Gay Marriage: Government has no role in marriage. It should not be legally recognized/subsidized/regulated. (As for hospitals, relatives should have medical power of attorney by default, with social contracts giving medical power of attorney as law that the hospital must recognize).

Death Penalty: Keep the current "death system" in place.

Gambling: Legalize, but tax at the NST (National Sales Tax, mentioned below) rate.

Age Of Consent: Maintain, but take away the "sexual offender" status given with being convicted of statutory rape.

National ID's: No RFID chips. Allow the IDs to be scanned like a credit card or similar to be used for all government services (getting a driver's license, charging for one of your ambulance trips, taking gov't transportation, etc.). Do not require to be carried at all times.

Foreign Trade Policy: Eliminate all tariffs (though tariffs can be imposed out of peacetime), no trade embargoes.

Transportation:

Federal: Turn over interstates to the private sector.
State & Local: Maintain current system, but increase tolling fees and locations to encourage use of public systems (should be provided free of charge if you have your National ID).

Unions: Mandate Right-To-Work laws (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-to-work) on the federal level for public job sectors only. Protect workers' ability to voluntarily unionize.

Education: Eliminate public schools. Eliminate mandated standardized tests. Require schools to provide their tuition/year rate, less they forfeit the privilege to be eligible for vouchers. Provide vouchers that pay 75% of the average tuition/year. Any excess funding will go back to the treasury department. Eliminate collage grants.

Taxes:

All current taxes - Eliminate.
National Sales Tax (internet included!) - ~10% (~ $1.3 trillion in annual revenue)

IRS - No tax filing req'd for individuals who do not own a business.

General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't:

Military Budget - Cut by no less then 33%
Social Security - $2,000 for each year working full-time to be refunded to all for those not currently on social security benefits. Maintain the full benefits for those currently on the system. Completely eliminate the program and all associated programs in 40 years, giving those still alive $25,000.
Medicaid - Phase out in no more then 5 years time from initiation of cutting benefits.

Currency: Maintain current system, but peg % extra money printed to % population growth.

Non-Profit Status: Eliminate. Eliminating taxes not associated with product sales essentially gives organizations current non-profit status.

Intellectual Property "Rights": Enforce (the police should have devoted divisions instead of expecting the RIAA or similar to bring up a civil lawsuit). Eliminate "fair use (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use)", legalize "shady" protection methods (rootkits, other undisclosed methods of allowing programs to report information to the corporation).

Net Neutrality: Property "rights" > "right" to access the internet in its public entirety.

You support slavery? And the free market doesn't want unions so of course you need labor laws to protect them.

And how is that, slavery? Why should anyone have to pay a due to be a part of a union, or to work somewhere? That's not fair. No one should infringe on your right to make a living.

Unions are an option if the employees want it, but it's not required.

??????

The free market doesn't have an opinion on free markets. They form naturally by "greedy" employees in an effort to "protect" themselves from "greedy" employers.

Right-To-Work laws simply state that Unions (most importantly, the Teachers' Union) cannot negotiate that employees must have dues taken out of their wages, thus giving them freedom to choose. I don't mind these laws so much in the private sector, but they ruin the education system. Of course, were it my ideal society, there wouldn't be public education anyways. I may reconsider that opinion if there were no public-sector unions, but that is currently not the case. I should have been more consistent in when/where I was basing my opinions of laws on, sorry.

Abortion: Pro Life - Just cuz you are an oven doesn't mean you have the right to nuke what you are cookin.,

Gun Control: No such thing.

Marijuana: 100% legalize it

Other Drugs: Legalize everything, anything can be abused but it isn't the drug that is the problem. It is the person who can't deal with self control or the ability to NOT stop. That is a personal issue and not a drug issue.

Oil Drilling: On my land? if I want to, on your land? if you want to.

Illegal Immigrants: Get rid of freebies and this will never be an issue again. Hand outs are just another form of taxation.

Homeland Security: Spend the billions on arming all citizens and we will have more homeland security then ever before.

Health Care: This should be up to churches and doctors with free enterprise and ZERO to do with government funding by way of taxation.

Foreign Policy: Make as much money as possible trading with other nations. Don't tell another country what they should do and if we don't care for what they do in their country just don't trade with them BUT don't force our bullshit on them either.

Global Warming: It has been going on forever but only became well known once they found a way for idiots to pay a tax or cash towards it WHICH still only is yet another tax. Americans really are fucking stupid as a whole.

Gay Marriage: As far as my personal belief. I think it has to do with the government showing people another way to help reduce our population. As far as gay marriage itself... that is up to the people who want to take it up the ass but has zero to do with the government itself and should stay with churches and those who get people married. If a pastor wants to marry two guys then that is on him or her and has zero to do with governmental control. Personally I think a child needs a dad and mom to be raised correctly BUT even with that most marriages don't work out anyways so it really depends.....

Death Penalty: Hurt kids or women and you should die 100%, we don't need killers wasting our tax dollars sitting in jail thinking segregation is the only way to live.

Gambling: This is only regulated because people were making too much money and the government needs a piece. Legalize it and slow down the government control over things like this.

Age Of Consent: This can always be different based on race, nationality and location. In the u.s. we have issues with the under 18 and over 18 unless they are close. I think it depends on the kid and the adult and should be a case by case without a simple line in the sand. If it wasn't forced then it was consent though and even at 18 most kids are not adults, hell I still don't feel like a consenting adult at 28.

National ID's: zero ids, they are simply a form of taxation and police state "show your papers" bullshit. No crime, no id needed.

Foreign Trade Policy: Trade as much as possible with as many countries as possible.

Transportation: No speed limits, no tags or licenses needed.

Unions: Get rid of any and all unions. there is never a group that can speak for many people EVER. if it did work then we would all be democrats.

Education: school should be in the hands of the parents, get rid of public education ran by taxes and leave it to churches and private organizations just like colleges.

Taxes: Businesses should pay taxes locally and even statewide if needed. nothing should be done on a federal level and should only be done where business is actually being done. Personal should NEVER be taxes because you work for what you get paid.

Currency: metals only, no paper bullshit.

Non-Profit Status: churches should not be allowed to get free rides, 100% separation including free rides.

Net Neutrality: no country can own the net until they try and make that one world government. It should not be monitored no matter how many "save the children" b.s. happens. If your kid gets molested online then it is your own fucking fault and not the tax payers or other people.

About You:

[QUOTE=Raditude;1630214]Issues Survey:

Abortion: It is a difficult issue, and I think state and local governments should ultimately decide on it.

Gun Control: Without any equivocations, I completely and wholeheartedly celebrate and proclaim the right of every individual to be armed, to whatever extent he or she desires.

Marijuana: Fully legalize it (not just decriminalize or regulate it). Heck, if people want to build their houses out of hemp, that's their prerogative!

Other Drugs: Decriminalize and/or legalize them all. Drug addiction is a familial, psychological, and medical issue. It is NOT rightfully within the purview of the criminal justice system.

Oil Drilling: A man has the right to do with his property whatever he wishes. If the proprietor consents to drilling...well, DRILL!

Illegal Immigrants: Streamline the process, drop quotas and favored nation statuses, and let's finally have a free, fair immigration system that doesn't make people jump through thousands of hoops and pay countless sums to work and prop up our great country!

Homeland Security: Unnecessary and a complete redundancy. in an ideal world, the only "Department of Homeland Security" required to defend the U.S. would be an armed and well-educated citizenry.

Free Health Care: If you can find a way to do it without stealing someone else's money, I'm game. But 'til then, it sounds an awful lot like socialism to me.

Foreign Policy: No standing army, only state and local voluntary militias, like the Constitution says. Non-interventionist foreign policy and no pre-emptive aggression.

Global Warming: The market would have this licked in about five months if the Feds would get off their backs. Not only that, but there are so many green potentialities that could arise from the re-legalization of hemp that many of these environmental issues would become moot.

Gay Marriage: Marriage is a church matter. If one church blesses or weds gay couples, that's terrific! But if another church doesn't, that's their belief system and it would be wrong to encroach upon it.

Death Penalty: For remorseless killers who have been proven guilty, yes! Although I have a feeling life in prison is a lot more of a deterrent for aggressors.

Polygamy: See my answer to "Gay Marriage"!

Gambling: Gambling laws are absolutely absurd, because they presume both the right and the moral authority to protect individuals from themselves. Gambling addiction is tragic, but it can be much more effectively treated in a loving home or clinical setting than in a cold and lonely jail cell!

Age Of Consent: That's up to every individual child and their parents to decide. After all, who knows a child better than his or her parents? One-size-fits-all prescriptions in these youth issues are disastrous because, despite the conventional wisdom, some children are more mature than others and no two kids are the same.

National ID's: I roundly reject the notion that any bureaucrat has the right to make you "show your papers!"

*Foreign Trade Policy: Free trade voluntary economic globalization, but no government treaties that are all too common veiled with the illusion of free trade.

*Transportation: It's not an issue 've given much thought to, but it should probably be left up to the states.

*Unions: Voluntary unions are OK. But unions who receive special recognition in the halls of power are an example of the private and public sectors mingling in a very alarming and immediately dangerous way.

*Education: Scrap the DOE, lose all Federal guidelines, and let parents and communities decide how to educate their own young. Only when people are free to pioneer and innovate in education will any progress be made at all.

*Taxes: Taxation is theft. Governments, if they are desired at all, should be funded on a purely voluntary basis. this could be done quite easily when one remembers just how few their rightful and Constitutional tasks would be; namely, the protection of people and their property from harm, and the provision of national defense (though even that seems like too much power to give government, in my opinion).

[LIST]
Income Tax - Eliminate
Corporate Taxes - Eliminate
Excise Taxes - Eliminate
Inheritance Tax - Eliminate
National Sales Tax (internet included!) - Private enterprise between consenting individuals is the last thing government should get its gnarled talons of corruption and graft into.
IRS - Scrap it!

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't: To stay the Hell out of our way.

*Currency: No fiat (mandatory) currency. Open the door to competing currencies, bartering, and all other forms of exchange that are voluntary.

*Intellectual Property "Rights": This is a difficult issue. I do believe in intellectual property, but I also believe that government acting as the "enforcer" for record companies and other private businesses is a dangerous precedent. Art should be free and easily available as long as the person or persons responsible receive credit for it.

*Net Neutrality: The Net should stay just the way it is right now.

Federal government must be strictly limited to the size and scope spelled out by the US Constitution (therefore ~99% cutbacks will be required). States may vary, but it's suggested they too stick to the same first 10 or so Amendments, especially the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th. Let freedom ring!

Abortion: MYOB You yourself can't hope to be free unless you keep your hands to yourself. Step away from the vagina.

Gun Control: Well armed masses = Polite and free society

Marijuana: Legalize

Other Drugs: Legalize all

Oil Drilling: Property owners may do as they please with their property as long as the property rights of others are not violated.

Illegal Immigrants: Eliminate all quotas, moderate fees fund the naturalization department. Increase the difficulty of the citizenship questions by adding a trick one using the word 'democracy". Keep it in English, concentrate on health issues.

Homeland Security: Cut spending by at least 95%

Health Care: Eliminate Medicaid/Medicare and all licensing laws for medical services and drugs. Free markets will make medical repair/maintenance improve just like (or even better than) PC hardware and software has improved (without any regulation).

Foreign Policy: Open trade with no embargoes (less tariffs) or threats - stay out of all non-US affairs that are not an imminent threat. Require a declaration of war for troops to be deployed outside the U.S.

Global Warming: It's the Sun - fire anyone who wants to regulate it or global warming/cooling, etc. If it's important to people, the invisible hand will self-regulate to benefit the environment.

Gay Marriage: Government has no role in marriage, relations between consenting adults, or how parents raise or educate their kids. BTW, MYOB

Death Penalty: Keep the current "death system" in place subject to a RANDOMLY selected, fully empowered jury trial delivering a 12/12 conviction conclusion.

Gambling: Legalize all

Age Of Consent: 16 (in Washington D.C.) States may vary, juries may convict...

National ID's: fuhgetaboutit. Free market solutions rule and can use DNA or whatever they require (for gated communities, finance and insurance, etc.) It must be optional.

Foreign Trade Policy: Open with reasonable tariffs to fund Fed Gov, Military defense inspection, Health inspection, no trade embargoes.

Transportation: Maintain interstates with usage fees if other roads are not provided by the private sector.

Unions: Protect workers' ability to voluntarily associate or unionize and also an employers ability to hire anyone they choose (with no controls on wages paid or benefits provided).

Education: Eliminate federal funding and control for all schools.

Taxes: Eliminate all personal and corporate (rely on fees for services and tariffs for basic Fed Gov.) State and local will need sales or income taxes, but limit this to 5% AND USE NO WITHHOLDING PRE-TAXES. People must be free to purchase/live/work across state lines to serve as competition to keep the states under free market control by the invisible hand. No IRS, withholding or Internet taxes. Property taxes must be slashed by 90% and replaced with fee services (education, fire protection, library).

General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't: Dry up the whole teat where we the people are tricked into thinking someone else is going to pay for this or that... Absolute no to any and all UN/NWO plans to govern or adopt a world fiat currency. LET FREEDOM RING!
_Military Budget - Cut by no less then 95% We have enough nukes, bio, chemical to destroy most of humanity without launching anything off of our shores!
_Social Security - Phase out.
_Medicaid - Phase out.
_FDA/Meat Inspector/BATF/NSA/NASA/DHS/FCC/FDIC/SEC/PBS and the FBI, etc. - Phase out all this unconstitutional bloat ASAP (at the Federal level). The invisible hand will organize optional private (state?) services as required. Local police will need to cooperate state to state enforcing violations of force or fraud against persons or property.
_National debt - Gee, we are bankrupt, so eliminate the federal reserve and their fiat inflation scam, issue an apology ASAP. Limit future debt via 1% inflation cap and mandatory balanced Congressional, 3 branch approved, annual budget. Peg % extra money minted coin to % population growth.

Non-Profits - Eliminate current non-profit status.

Intellectual Property and Patents: Eliminate each patent after 7 years of use (get there first, but expect free market competition). Let music makers figure out technology to secure their works, or lower prices to make pirating unprofitable.

Internet and Net Neutrality: Hands off regulating or taxing the Internet and public (RF) airwaves. These need to be maintained "open" like interstate highways and not subject to government restrictions or exclusive corporate ownership/pricefixing/censor/control.

About You:

Political Affiliation: LP member (100%x100% WSPQ score), $2300 club RP supporter, Libertarian exhibiting conservative personal behavior. 98% gubermint critic, many laws are insane, but I do fully support my local Police.

Abortion: Staunchly pro-life in values, but still seriously thinking about a non-Draconian way to enforce a ban on abortion.

Gun Control: None, aside from students in schools.

Marijuana: Legalize it

Other Drugs: Legalize them, allow more tax credits for private rehab facilities, treat as medical condition unless a criminal act is committed under the influence, in which case the normal sentence of the crime would be doubled.

Oil Drilling: Do it

Illegal Immigrants: Close the borders, send'em back, no anchor babies

Homeland Security: Department? Shouldn't exist. We should keep a nice military, though, in case of foreign aggression.

Free Health Care: Only if a private charity offers it!

Foreign Policy: Defend ourselves only. No alliances, only friendships.

Global Warming: Government plot for more control and more money.

Gay Marriage: The federal government should recognize no marriages, for there should be no income tax. This SHOULD be left to churches, but I guess the states can get involved if they want.

Death Penalty: No.

Polygamy: See gay marriage answer.

Gambling: No restrictions, aside from fraud

Age Of Consent: Left to states.

National ID's: Terrible idea!!

*Foreign Trade Policy: No embargoes. Trade with all nations.

*Transportation: Left to states, aside from interstate highways.

*Unions: Protect Amendment I rights and allow freedom to associate however, though no union should be affiliated with a political party.

*Education: Eliminate the federal government from schools COMPLETELY. States or local communities can decide if they want public schools, but ideally, I'd like all homeschooling or private schooling.

*Taxes:

* Income Tax - Eliminate
* Corporate Taxes - Eliminate
* Excise Taxes - Keep a few small ones
* Inheritance Tax - Eliminate
* National Sales Tax (internet included!) - I'd tolerate a moderate one - about 5-10% at most.
* IRS - Abolish!

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't:

* Social Security - Stop withdrawing from the trust fund!! Give to those promised benefits (born before X date) and allow the next generation to choose private account VS social security. It will phase out eventually.
* National debt - We will need a national sales tax for a while to pay off the national debt. Hopefully it will be gone in a few decades, and hopefully we won't have descended into war or fascism or both.

*Currency: Bring dollar back to being redeemable for gold or silver and allow competing currencies. People can barter for whatever they want, basically, but debts can only be paid to the government by gold and silver. (US currency)

*Intellectual Property "Rights": I'm not sure what this is, I'll check it out.

*Net Neutrality: No internet regulation or censorship unless the activity causes damage to a person, persons, or a company. (agree with Raditude)

Abortion: Pro-Choice(You have a right to choose, fuck the states.)

Gun Control: Pro 2nd Amendment

Marijuana: Legalize it

Other Drugs: Legalize them

Oil Drilling: Do it

Illegal Immigrants: Close the borders, send'em back, no anchor babies

Homeland Security: Way overdone

Free Health Care: REALLY Bad Idea

Foreign Policy: Non-intereventionist

Global Warming: It's a fraud. It's no threat.

Gay Marriage: Personally I want gay marriage.(The government should have NOTHING to do with it, though)

Death Penalty: NO. Unless there's a mass murder and you have 100% proof that he did it.

Polygamy: Don't regulate marriage, let the church do that

Gambling: Legalize

Age Of Consent: Don't care.

National ID's: Against

*Foreign Trade Policy: Eliminate all tariffs. Trade freely with other countries.

*Transportation: Change license requirements to only being able to pass a test and height requirements. (Personally I belive this, but it's a state's issue.)

I'd also allow communities to decide what they want. Personally I want some public education, but the state shouldn't accredit public schools.

*Taxes:

* Income Tax - Eliminate
* Corporate Taxes - Eliminate
* Excise Taxes - Eliminate
* Inheritance Tax - Eliminate
* National Sales Tax (internet included!) - ~10% (~ $1.3 trillion in annual revenue)
* IRS - No tax filing req'd for individuals who do not own a business.

Personally, in my community. I'd want small taxes to pay for some stuff. (I've already debated this, I'm not doing it here.)

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't:

* Social Security - Personally I'm against this in the first case. But I'm with Ron Paul on this issue.
* National debt - Increase national sales tax % as needed to slowly (~20-30 years) eliminate the national debt.

Seems like a good idea. This debt will take a while to pay back, though.
Oh yeah, and don't spend too much.
*Currency: If feasible, switch back to the Gold and Silver Standard

*Intellectual Property "Rights": Leave the laws as they are.

*Net Neutrality: No internet regulation or censorship unless the activity causes damage to a person, persons, or a company.

Issues Survey:

Abortion: Pro-Choice as a fundamental right (although I am personally against it, I believe that a woman has the right to remove any parasite, human or otherwise, from her body at any time).

Gun Control: Against most gun control. I would say that states have a right to regulate heavy arms (tanks, artillery, etc) as well as storage of high explosives, and they have the right to define those terms. Of course, all people should be guaranteed the right to any barreled weapon 50 caliber or less.

Marijuana: Legalize it, no regulation

Other Drugs: Legalize them, no regulation

Oil Drilling: If they own the mineral rights, go for it. If they pollute the air, they can be sued. If it is on state or federal land, then taxpayers should be issued a refund for any minerals or other resources removed, with contracts awarded on a competitive, free market basis. All bids are open to the public, the bid that gives the most money to the people while maintaining the integrity the intended purpose of the land is granted (ie no strip mining in Yellowstone, no clear cutting in old growth forests, etc).

Illegal Immigrants: Close the borders, process all illegals to give them legitimate status, send back undesirables (criminals, mentally insane, etc). No quotas or limits on immigration, provided each immigrant clears a background check, and a mental and physical health check.

Homeland Security: Abolish. Execute anyone who committed high crimes. By hanging.

Free Health Care: Emergency care must be provided, but by waiting until it is an emergency, we spend too much, so cheap preventative care should be provided cheaply or free. States will pay according to what they want, not feds.

Foreign Policy: Withdraw all troops from all foreign nations in an orderly manner, trade with all, entangling alliances with none, withdraw from NATO, use diplomacy and veto power at UN to encourage growth of freedom in the world.

Global Warming: Keep an eye on it, global cooling may be a bigger problem.

Gay Marriage: It's a contract between two individuals, and should be recognized as such, with no regulation, save against fraud.

Death Penalty: Only for officials who take oaths to uphold the constitution and fail to do so by willfully and knowingly violating the rights of human individuals (this includes local sheriffs all the way up to the President). If convicted of a high crime against the constitution, they would be executed by hanging. Lesser crimes would give jail sentences, or simply removal from office, along with the possibility of being barred from ever running for public office again.

Polygamy: Contract between two or more individuals. Contract law applies. Crimes committed in the pursuit of this practice will be prosecuted (violent intimidation or abandonment of male children, forcible marriage, unlawful imprisonment, etc)

Gambling: Up to the states. One should point out that gambling is a net drain of state revenue in most cases, due to increased crime.

Age Of Consent: Should be abolished. Rape laws still apply, and are enforced with fury against child rapists.

National ID's: Against

*Foreign Trade Policy: Token tariffs to cover costs of inspections.

*Transportation: State business, feds can set voluntary standards to maximize interoperability (like road and track widths, designs of road signs, etc).

*Unions: Mandate Right-To-Work laws on the federal level (enshrine in constitution if possible). Protect workers' ability to voluntarily unionize (enshrine in constitution if possible).

*Education:no federal regulations, individual states may pick system that works best for them.

*Taxes:
Income Tax - Eliminate
Corporate Taxes - Corporations are creations of the states, and thus should be taxed by them, no federal recognition or regulation of corporate entities. All shareholders names are publicly available from the courthouse where company is incorporated.
Excise Taxes - Eliminate at federal level, states may tax at will
Inheritance Tax - Eliminate, replace with a small fee to cover court costs
National Sales Tax: None. This is a terrible idea.

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't:
Social Security - Allow anyone to opt out at any time, phase out program.
National debt - Results of probe into Fed actions over the last 80 years would point to a solution, perhaps one that includes shifting some or all of that debt to the banks that created the situation and profited from it. If they default, the debt vanishes back into the aether from which it came. Alternatively, print, print, print, after dual currencies have been introduced, and pay back the debt with worthless paper.

*Currency: Repeal Federal Reserve Act, investigate for abuses and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Have competing currencies between fiat, gold, silver, and copper.

*Intellectual Property "Rights": Repeal these laws. Patent and copyright law apply, each person or company must pay a fee every year after the seventh year from date of issue. The fee doubles every year, starting at $1. The company can keep the patent so long as it is cost effective. By year 25, they will be paying 33 million dollars per year, by year 30, they will be paying over 1 trillion. Once a copyright or patent is released, it goes into the public domain, where it belongs.

*Net Neutrality: No internet regulation or censorship unless the activity causes damage to a person or persons. If ISPs want to tier traffic, they give up common carrier status, and become liable for any illicit traffic on their networks.

My problem is that I would trust a State of Rhode Island with these sort of limits... but not Texas... Religion changes everything.

Unless you live in Texas, it's none of your business.

Rad, you DO realize that about half of what you said is statist and not anarchist correct? I seem to be more pro-freedom/responsibility then you, and can only classify myself a Minarchist.

This is just how I feel on the issues. Ideally, I would like to have my own island with my family and a few close friends that has an Anarchist government, but that won't happen. So going with what we got, that's how I would run things. I don't think our nation could get along with widespread Anarchism. I am only an Anarchist in theory, but obviously have to go with this form of government, until we can come up with something better.

It's kind of like what Kade said about trusting Rhode Island with it, but not Texas.

That's how I came to be one... surrounded by the most vile and unlettered baboons the world has ever seen.

Being here makes me more liberal too... this forum is a breeding ground for stupid.

I'm still really confused. You posted your stances on the issues, and they all seemed pretty libertarian; I didn't find myself disagreeing too much.

You explained the difference between classic .vs. modern liberalism and there is a clear difference; to me, the former is close to libertarianism, the other is closer to socialism.

So what kind of people are you calling stupid on this forum? The libertarians, such as myself, who don't disagree with you on that much, or just everybody?

There's only one issue here. Government: destroy it, abolish it, lock it up and throw away the key. All other issues will logically follow as people begin to realize the control they have over their own lives.

Abortion: Individual decision

Gun Control: If it can't destroy a city, you can have it and carry it

Marijuana: Legalize it

Other Drugs: Legalize them

Oil Drilling: government auction off the land (except National Parks) leave energy development to the market

Illegal Immigrants: open, but metered, immigration (assuming the welfare state is dismantled) queue jumpers can't come in for ten years after they get caught.

Homeland Security: delete

Free Health Care: Keep government out of it

Foreign Policy: Defend our border ONLY

Global Warming: Without absolutely compelling evidence that human activity is THE cause for climate change that would not otherwise take place, let the market deal with it

Gay Marriage: get government out of the marriage business

Death Penalty: No. Transportation for life for violent predators and death penalty if they come back.

Polygamy: get government out of relationships

Gambling: Legalize

Age Of Consent: 18

National ID's: Against

*Foreign Trade Policy: Government out of trade entirely, except for non-protectionist, revenue-generating tariffs

*Transportation: government out of transportation entirely, including roads

*Unions: government out of labor relations, prosecute property and personal rights violations by unions and management both.

*Education:Government out of education

*Taxes:

Income Tax - Eliminate
Corporate income Taxe - retain
Excise Taxes - Eliminate
Inheritance Tax - Eliminate
National Sales Tax eliminate
IRS - eliminate (allow States to collect corporate tax)
Fee for recording property to pay for local law enforcement protection of the property and for protection by armed forces from invasion.

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't:

Social Security - allow anyone to opt out voluntarily. Require anyone under the age of 30 to exit. Eliminate benefits for anyone that doesn't rely on them. Sell government land to pay off the rest of the obligation, and kill the system when the last person is paid.

National debt - Cancel debt to Fed. Pay off remaining debt using revenue surplus from dramatic reduction in government expenditures.

Currency: Allow the market to choose currency. Eliminate creation of new bank money by raising interest rates and reserve rates. Confiscate all gold and silver from Fed, IMF and World Bank. Coin it and use it to pay remaining government payrolls, putting it into circulation. Sell all remaining Federal land (except parks which should be handed over to the states) for gold and silver. Once the bank money system has ground to a halt, calculate the exchange rate for remaining government gold and silver vs. outstanding dollars, proclaim a deadline for the exchange and then change out the dollars for gold. Then get government out of the currencybusiness except for prosecuting people who counterfeit coinage or engage in fractional reserve banking. Hang them publicly. Hang any politician who introduces or votes in favor of legislation to allow fractional reserve banking, central banking, or fiat currency.

*Intellectual Property "Rights": Reduce copyright to the life of the author, otherwise leave as is.

*Net Neutrality: No internet regulation or censorship. Existing laws of defamation and fraud apply.

Screw you guys... you should listen to what I say more.

Master, I am so sorry that we have displeased you! Our most sincere apologies. Twelve-hundred floggings all around. We'll invade Canada and slaughter all there, animals and plants included. From there, we will cover Canada with asphalt and First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth .... Nine-hundred-eighty-first Churches of Kade, in inverse order of when they were built.

No..... wait -

I shall erect a statue immediately and implant a media PC inside. Atop the head of the statue shall be an awesome 22 inch LCD monitor that is only third to the great state of awe the streaming picture of your face shall put us in, and the triumphant and glorious sound of your voice ringing through my town.

Praise Kade!

Abortion: Pro-choice.Seems like a privacy issue to me more so then a government issue

Gun Control: It was important enough to be the 2ND amendment. no gun control

Marijuana:legalize but possibly tax for revenue

Other Drugs: legalize them all.caffeine is the most addictive drug known to man why isn't it banned if drugs are so bad

Oil Drilling:If you own the land drill on it if you want but don't take over/Eminent domain the people out of their stuff

Illegal Immigrants: It cost money to apply for citizenship.I don't recall paying to become a citizen,so let them in. America land of opportunity.

Homeland Security: Unnecessary and a complete redundant

Free Health Care: Since we obviously don't care about the debt we have now as a country why not.Billions on wars why not those billions on health care

Foreign Policy:Unless we or our allies are attacked we don't police the world.no more pre-imminent crap.

Global Warming:hemp, solar, wind. Plus the Earth warms somewhat anyway so we are all gonna go.I'm just trying to lengthen our stay

Gay Marriage: who cares it is not me it doesn't affect me let people be married if they want to again seems like a personal issue not government

Death Penalty: For traitors to the country and mass murderers only

Polygamy: personal issue not government

Gambling: Being lost on a road and guessing which turn to take is a gamble so gambling laws are pointless

Age Of Consent: personal choice again if a person feels they are ready.

National ID's: I don't think I will want people to show their papers. Seems like numbers on certain WW2 persons

*Foreign Trade Policy: Free trade

*Transportation: states to decide how much money is spent on public transportation. Federal decides roads

*Unions: Great. Unless they are proving too powerful in the federal government

*Education: Scrap the DOE,Get rid of Standardized test they prove that a person has memorized a few facts

*Taxes:If a government is so good that people want to pay them then yes taxes are ok but until then no taxes they seem illegal to me.Would it be ok for the mob to say well you live here so you have to pay us this much to be allowed to stay.

Income Tax - Eliminate Corporate Taxes - Eliminate Excise Taxes - Eliminate Inheritance Tax - Eliminate National Sales Tax (internet included)Government should keep hands away from companies money
IRS - Scrap it!

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't: To see Americans get money
and live comfortably by staying out of the damn way

*Currency: Gold standard. If possible some items should be dealt on barter system

*Intellectual Property "Rights": If I enjoy your work i will pay you for it otherwise it will be given back to you with an apology.Government shouldnt step as the property police in this issue

*Net Neutrality: Can't be controlled successfully so it would be a waste of money to try

Issues Survey:

Abortion: Personally pro-life, but prefer to not have the matter controlled by government at all.

Gun Control: Citizens should have the right to keep and bear arms equivalent to the standard issue personal weapons of U.S. military personnel.

Marijuana: Legalize it

Other Drugs: Legalize them

Oil Drilling: Do it

Illegal Immigrants: Close the borders. Build a fence. Move the military from Iraqoreastan and put them on the U.S. borders, north and south. People in the country illegally should have the option to plead their case before a court. Those individuals with legitimate claims of long-standing ties to the American community, such as young people who were brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents when they were children and who then subsequently grew up in the United States, should not face deportation. Each individual should have a right to plea their case before a court if they wish to convert their status from illegal to legal, and each individual should be treated and judged as an individual.

Homeland Security: I think there probably is some justification for defensive intelligence gathering. I'm not really disturbed to hear about terrorist ringleaders getting capped, and somebody needs to be doing that job. However, there needs to be significant independent oversight of such activities and more respect for the legal procedures intended to protect the innocent from harrasment.

Free Health Care: I object to the poll question. There is no such thing as free health care. The question should be: what kind of medical care delivery system is best? And my answer to that question is, I don't know, but I don't like what we have now.

Foreign Policy: Follow Switzerland's lead on diplomatic matters.

Global Warming: Great marketing pitch for selling solar panels.

Gay Marriage: I don't care about gay people marrying, but I don't want family courts to treat gay marriages as equal to hetero marriages in child custody decisions. I think children optimally should have parents of both genders.

Death Penalty: Indifferent. Local control is fine by me.

Polygamy: Don't care. Local standards are fine by me.

Gambling: Indifferent. Local control is fine by me.

Age Of Consent: Indifferent. Local control is fine by me.

National ID's: Support

*Foreign Trade Policy: Should be the primary tool by which the U.S. exerts leverage internationally. Regulation of trade is a power vested in the congress, so whatever the political process works out that is constitutional is ok with me.

*Transportation: Indifferent. Local control is fine by me.

*Unions: Protect workers' ability to voluntarily unionize.

*Education:Abolish dept. of education and return educational control to local school districts and states.

*Taxes: Suck

*General Financial/Economic Goals of Federal Gov't:

*Currency: Legalize private commodity backed currencies and let the market figure it out. Institute banking reform by outlawing fractional reserve banking.

*Intellectual Property "Rights": Leave the laws as they are.

*Net Neutrality: No internet regulation or censorship unless the activity is malicious or disruptive of network access (i.e. hacking, DOS attacks, etc).

Edit:

I want to add an issue because I know my opinion is bound to offend and irritate most users of this forum:

Video Surveilance: I'd like to see google turn their street level map view application into a full-time video storage system where all public spaces in the world were recorded 100% of the time, with all that data made available to all. Want to know what happened on a particular street corner on a certain afternoon a month ago? Just google it up and watch the video.

Abortion: Pro-Life, but I like Congressman Paul's idea of declaring an unborn baby a citizen with legal rights, up to the states to decide on the rest.

Gun Control: Pro-2nd Amendment

Marijuana: de-criminalize

Other Drugs: Up to the States

Oil Drilling: Drill Now

Illegal Immigrants: This is real simple, make it a federal crime to hire illegals on a regular basis. The rest will slowly go back to their country, after two years, start cracking down and deporting all illegals, even with families (they risked bringing their kids over, or getting pregnant over here instead of sending cash back to families.)

Homeland Security:No opinion, I haven't been affected personally by it, and I can't make a solid opinion if I don't have some more experience on the matter.

Free Health Care: Either we'll be paying an extra 5% or higher on income tax, and/or higher unemployment rate because of it, and very mediocre care, no thanks.

Foreign Policy: I support our Super Power status, but we need to break away from the U.N.

Global Warming: Moderation, more tax credits to promote conservation technology

Gay Marriage: I'm not for it or against it.

Death Penalty: Only if the evidence is overwhelming, such as DNA, fingerprints, videotape, etc. But I prefer Life in Prison to teach them a lesson, just make it a lot more horrible for the prisoners, no tv, reading materials, etc. No communication with other prisoners. Send a message to the streets, that prison will be worse than death.

Polygamy: I'm 100% opposed, but make it a state issue. Most polygamist marriages are like Islamic ones, or the ones near San Angelo now at that compound. Young girls getting brainwashed and married off men they don't want to marry.

Gambling: State/City Issue

Age Of Consent: The current laws seem fine to me.

National ID's: National ID's are for the Left wing GOP who want to keep illegal immigrant status quo

*Foreign Trade Policy: Congress should promote more free trade

*Transportation: No Opinion

*Unions: Unions should be a risky venture, and should have little government protection.

*Education: Vouchers, less federal intervention

*Taxes: Cut at least 10% of government spending and re-do Tax Code

*Currency: More Congressional oversight of the Federal Reserve

*Intellectual Property "Rights": The current laws are fine by me

*Net Neutrality: Less government regulation when it comes to private companies offering services.

Political Affiliation: A enthusiastic Conservative who is an unenthusiastic Republican

Age: 25

Gender: Male

State: Texas

Race (optional): Mixed Caucasian and Hispanic

Religion: A skeptical Christian, and rationalist

Candidate you will likely vote for: Leaning on McCain as an Anti-Socialist vote, but might vote none of the above after I vote on other local/state offices. To me McCain will probably appease the Democrats too much, but Obama will a lot worse when it comes to signing everything a Democrat controlled Congress will pass. Will make us miss the era of Clinton and Bush.
