What do you mean by 'fake'? They are not money, but they are real gold, silver and diamonds. They are collectors coins.

At least at the end of the video they showed the weights and values of the coins and they were all either pure copper, silver or gold.
I'm guessing this is a private mintage thing tho.

If you go to www.halturnershow.com and read the info there about it, I think you will be 90% convinced that it is the real thing. There is always a possibility that it isnt real but it looks like we will all find out when its too late.

The amero, if it came along, wouldn't be a minted coin. Thats kind of the point, remember?

These coins are not really related to the Amero.

Someone minted these to play off the potential coming of the Amero.

Union of North America (UNA) Amero Patterns.
A currency union, similar to the European Union "Euro" has been proposed for North America. The name of the new currency is the "Amero". The Wikipedia encyclopedia article has additional details about the "Amero". This has been the source for many conspiracy theories tied in with other proposals such as the "Canamex Corridor".

These private-issue fantasy pattern coins will be struck as an annual series, starting in the latter part of 2007.

It doesn't appear that the guy who wrote that article even spent 2 minutes researching the coins. The Amero is real, but this ain't it.

THis is one of the comments on the Amero story

You gotta love this. Hal Turner first reports the Amero coins and people say he's full of shit, they're only "fantasy" coins.

CNBC, one of the biggest news networks in America airs a Financial expert who confirms on the air that the AMERO is going to replace the US Dollar, Canadian Dollar and Mexican Peso, and folks still don't believe it.

Then, Hal Turner goes out and has someone steal one of the AMERO coins to prove they're real and folks still don't believe it!

Such people are assholes!

So many people are in major league "DENIAL" over this issue, it's actually frightening to me they have the right to vote!

Idiots like these who deny reality can actually negate the votes of those of us who see the truth.

At this rate, the country is lost unless we take up arms, overthrow the government and wipe out the people in denial too!

Oh well, no big loss.

Yeah, the guy does seem kind of out there. His wiki page is off the charts.

We're not denying that Ameros may be coming, just that these particular coins are from a private mint. These were created as collector items to go with the whole NAU thing going on. The real Ameros will be fiat paper, because that is the only way that the central bankers can make money.

Exactly. If the Amero was going to be based on a real gold & silver standard, I might be able to get behind this whole NAU thing. Even with the loss of sovereignty, a gold standard would solve a lot of problems and make life a lot better.

This coin that everyone has their tits in a twist over is just some designer who wants to show how good he is and make a few bucks. More importantly, it's his way of submitting his design to the NAU powers-that-be so that he gets the final contract for designing the official Amero when it becomes a reality.

Glad to see someone is paying attention....

Those may not be the real Amero, but apparently banks are already trading in Ameros. It's just a matter of time. :(

Source?

I've read it a couple times somewhere, but am unable to find anything right now. I'll keep digging.
