Well, we now know that even Ron Paul supporters are not all that astute. Okay, I'll explain it to you:

This ad is the classic "throw a bunch of shit against the wall and hope something sticks" strategy (BTW, this "story" has been out for months, its hardly new).

The idea of this particular version of crap throwing is to find a bad person that Obama was in some way associated with (in this case, Obama and the college professor in the ad were both on the board of an organization at the same time) and play the "guilt by association" card.

Its kind of the same as kind of tactic as finding a picture of McCain embracing a Vietnamese Communist Party official, and accusing him of being a communist sympathizer or a "Manchurian Candidate" who was sent by the Communists to take over the USA. BTW, there is a group already doing this- but they don't have national ads- yet.

Its idiotic, and you should be ashamed of yourself for falling for it (in either case).

You have a brain. Use it.

McCain and Obama are both appallingly bad candidates, but falling for this sort of garbage just makes you look stupid (and makes the rest of us look stupid by association).

You want to attack Obama (or McCain), attack him on the issues- there is plenty to dislike about both of them. Otherwise, you look like a 2-year old throwing feces against the wall.

True. But many times you are defined by the company you keep. And like you have said, most americans are sheep - they aren't gonna grasp Obamas' "Change" decree of freebies and handouts and socialism. They aren't gonna get it. You have to scare them.
