How the hell did they know it was a 'drone' aircraft??

Did they mean they heard the 'drone' of an aircraft??

You know what? I had the same question, but that's only because I'm assuming that a drone sounds pretty much like any other a/c. I have NO idea what a drone sounds like.

Oh, it is possible--especially for people near an airbase. My dad could tell a DC-3 by the sound. Never got it wrong.

Even though I can tell some of the different commercial a/c sounds (on the ground), I sometimes run to look for helicopters when the maintenance guys are cutting the grass! :eek:
